TheMoose Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 (edited) V.1.2.3 Mig29S Hud Speed indicator bug when switching from Nav to Air to Air… Edit: same thing with the su27… http://youtu.be/WCim_gCiQ64 I had a metric speed indicator of 500 then switch to air to air and I had 1200(Russian symbol) Edited March 1, 2013 by TheMoose Antec 900 gaming tower, PSU: Corsair 750W, Q6600, Asus P5K, 8Gig Mushkin, Nvidia eVGA 280 GTX Superclocked 1G DDR3, SSDNOW200 Kingston Drive, TrackIr 3000+Vector, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick, Saitek rudder pedals pro, Sharp 42" inch LCD Aquo. EvilBivol-1 Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 It's switching from Indicated to True airspeed. - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. Everything takes much longer. The Parable of Jane's A-10 Forum Rules
TheMoose Posted March 1, 2013 Author Posted March 1, 2013 It's switching from Indicated to True airspeed. So it's a feature and not a bug? Just wondering due to the Russian symbol besides it... EvilBivol-1 Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Yes, feature. I think it was actually introduced in FC2. - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. Everything takes much longer. The Parable of Jane's A-10 Forum Rules
159th_Falcon Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Really? I thought it was already there in 1.12 Can easily be mistaken though. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] The keeper of all mathematical knowledge and the oracle of flight modeling.:)
GGTharos Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 CAS/IAS is useful when you're flying. It tells you how your plane's performing in terms of flying qualities. TAS is useful in BVR, when you want to know how much energy you have and how much energy you're about to impart to that missile, as well as for making those mental timing calculations based on closure. So it's a feature and not a bug? Just wondering due to the Russian symbol besides it... 159th_Falcon Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Mental timing calculations for closure? What do i need that for? Please elaborate/post link. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] The keeper of all mathematical knowledge and the oracle of flight modeling.:)
GGTharos Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 600 kph = 10km/min. I hope that explains everything :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

TheMoose Posted March 2, 2013 Author Posted March 2, 2013 Would it be better to have a key combo to switch to true air speed instead? GGTharos Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 There's no 'key combo' for it in the real plane. You go BVR/lock target, it displays TAS. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
TheMoose Posted March 2, 2013 Author Posted March 2, 2013 (edited) Why I'm asking, this "feature" I never noticed it within my 10 years+ flying lomac skys. I'm I wrong? So I learn something new :D I'm ok with it though, thought was a bug, but thanks for putting me straight ;) PS youtube post deleted on the extent of the "feature" and not a bug ;) Edited March 2, 2013 by TheMoose Antec 900 gaming tower, PSU: Corsair 750W, Q6600, Asus P5K, 8Gig Mushkin, Nvidia eVGA 280 GTX Superclocked 1G DDR3, SSDNOW200 Kingston Drive, TrackIr 3000+Vector, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick, Saitek rudder pedals pro, Sharp 42" inch LCD Aquo.
