Hello to ED Team,

its the first time that i have such problems. Before i never had some. So lets go and see what i have. I am sorry if i bother you with such problems, but hopefully you can solve this in the future.

After installing patch 123 i had missing textures, especially cockpit textures.

I found the problem with my AV program Avira. As mentioned i never had this before.

Here is a quote i wrote in another thread:

Do you have AV programm installed?

If yes, i have the same problem, my anti virus thinks its a virus (patch 123 updates). Its getting me crazy.

Even dcs.exe seems to be one.

I have Avira, when a warning window appears, i have to klick on details, then right click the "affected" file, set it to "always ignore". Proceed with every other "infected" file.

Then, before starting DCS i have to disable AV program.

PS: AV declares A-10 cockpit dll and that for the P-51 too as a virus. Thats why cockpit textures are missing in my case.

Thank you and S!

LC

PS: After the procedure i made a new install of P-51, but that didnt helped me.

Disable your anti virus before installing, and contact your anti virus software customer support and report the error.

It's something for the AV developers to fix, not ED.

Avira has heuristics that check for potential malicious behavior. Unfortunately most Trojans or malware try to load additional malicious code from other files or the web.

Avira seems to block by default all .dll or .exe files trying to load files if they are not in their whitelist database...

Usually AV programs have the option to make exceptions for the scan engine, based on folders, you may want to look for that and make an exception for the complete ./Eagle Dynamics/ subfolder structure...

If that's not possible, you need to contact Avira and ask them to whitelist the DCS files, unfortunately it will be a problem again after the next change to any of these files, because the hash value for the file will change.

Or use a second PC for E-Mail, Web, downloads etc. recommended OS would be Linux.

And use the Game PC for flying only and deinstall the AntiVirus. Only risk is the malicious code from USB devices and the DCS Server or Hosted DCS Missions you join...:D
