buedi Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Most of the time I come here once a week on during the weekend to read through the new posts. When I open the Forum, unread Forum parts and posts are marked as unread, which is a good thing. The problem is when I start reading topics and come back to the Main Forum again a few minutes later, everything is set to read automatically. I don´t have this issue in other Forums. There I have to either click on each unread topic or I need to click on "Mark everything Read" to set everything to read. The behaviour makes it difficult to read the forums if you´re just out to everything you did not read let´s say a week before. I checked my Forums settings in the User CP, but I was not able to find a function which disables the "set the forum to read automatically after x minutes". Does someone know how to solve this or is it just how this forum works and there will be no change? :helpsmilie:
Lange_666 Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Dealing a bit with the same problem. I have the idea that the forum goes quicker into "Mark everything read" then before (this isn't something i noticed yesterday but already a while back). As a work around i now use the "New Posts" button but the drawback is that this list also gives parts of the forum i never visit (italian/german/russian/spanish and french forum). Would by nice to have that as an selectable option. Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600. Monitors: LG 27GL850-B27 2560x1440 + Samsung SyncMaster 2443 1920x1200, HOTAS: Warthog with Virpil WarBRD base, MFG Crosswind pedals, TrackIR4, Rift-S, Elgato Streamdeck XL. Personal Wish List: A6 Intruder, Vietnam theater, decent ATC module, better VR performance!
joey45 Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 I normally click on 'New Posts' and open what I want to read in a new tab. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. "Me, the 13th Duke of Wybourne, here on the ED forums at 3 'o' clock in the morning, with my reputation. Are they mad.." https://ko-fi.com/joey45
buedi Posted March 3, 2013 Author Posted March 3, 2013 Thanks for your response. I think I also will have to use the New Posts functionality. Today I had the impression that I did not have the problem, but I was not that long on the Forum. But maybe they changed something. I´ll keep an eye on that :)
