For REal DCS

Why is so difficult to install this game. I have try so many times and realy no luck.

 

I have erase everything, download with a cable via torret and single files. It only take me 30mint to download the hold 5.19GB of files. I also disconnect firewalls. Like I say I have erase everything the hold DCS world BlackShark 1 and all the save files in user. So whats next What I need to do to enjoid without lossing more hair.

 

Jesus whats so F(*&(*&ck about this freaking Game install.

 

OK so can anyone help me out here, could it be my pc, can it be my harddrive. I have been flying DCS for long time and evrytime theres a upgrade is a pain.

 

Please Help out a fellow airman.

What is the nature of your problem? Does the install fail? Does the game crash on startup? Can't you get it activated? We need a good deal more of information to be able to even remotely know what could be going wrong.

Sorry I though that I pass the correct info of my problem.

 

Does the install fail? Yes I download several times for the DCS links of world, via torrent, http and ftp. right now the last one I did was Http and was also a no go, the messege I get right now is a bazzar/8ball something sorry can recal the exact name but mostly always is a bazzar name file and its always at the stard of the install.

 

I use to download via wifi but now I'm using direct cable. One more thing I notice is that everytime I chk the files meaning MD5 they never match the numbers, but I got a confirm last night that it never does something have to do with DCS.

 

So I use to have 1.2.2 and everything was ok DCS world, A10 and Blackshark 2. I unistall everything even the User/savegames/DCS file the only diferent thing I did was erase and hold some files meaning control imputs and logs and missions but I put it on the desktop and change the folder name so it wont interup or get in the way of the new files.

 

The files I download have the same ammount of weight that the files have to be 1.9, 1.9 1.6 something like that(sorry on office).

 

Last tiem meaning 4 month ago I whent to the same process I download via Wifi and I think that was the problem thas wy I change to cable and work and I also did a all systeme restore Windows 7 64. I dont whant to do a all systeme recovery. Another thing I'm thinking on doing tonight is defrag the disk and chk for anomalies or virus.

 

Another wierd thing is that I own Blackshark 1 box, I try last night to intall and I got and error even before traying to install something about corrupt files and to contact manufacture this is form the cd. So I'm downloading BS1 from links.

amd motherboard dont remember the specs but its a 3.4gb

on another note Im having Java problem to upgrade but is working, don't know if this affects.

oooh by the way I have systeme protector and microsoft essentials. I think Systeme protector is never on cause I turn it off meaning is not on background running microsoft essential I never touch it.

 

Just one last comment things Im already writting all of this is. When I build my pc I took my old hardrive with it, I never have problems with it but things its and old from another pc Im thinking that the HD have so many meesup things ethier way it have pass many defrags and chk and always is ok that this could be also a problem. So I was thinking in getting and adittional HD and SDD and just use it to safe the DCS on it having the O: dirve in the other one. the computer log fast and ok with no problem.

 

So any Help and I know I have been over this again and again but Im not a gury in machines. sorry for the long post and for typos and if I repeat stuff.:music_whistling:

I'm not really sure i understand. Are you saying that you get an md5 mismatch? If yes, then that's the likely cause of why the installer is not running through the whole process.

 

The only idea i have right now is skip the file that fails, then after the installation run the repair function of the auto updater, that should replace all the corrupt files in your install.

For this question: Once I pass one it keep coming back to back so I though It was not passing them?

 

Yea sorry I tent to write in english(not my native language) and probably got you very confuse :doh:

 

For the MD5, yes a mismatch, but those it work always cause I tent to get incorrect codes everytime? If you say thas the problem then there is something wrong in the download process regarless the download finish ok.

 

I guess firewall, AV programs, (those microsoft essential can be also a problem?) realy extrange. The only thin I'm thinking is connect direct to the wall and forget the modem(what you think) ither way extrange cause I have pass this part before.

A turned off antivirus can still keep you from installing etc. when something is wrong with this.

 

I saw in another topic that your firewall is mostly red and now you say your antivirus is off most of the time.

You live in a house without doors. The firewall is a must! A turned off antivirus and firewall are the ingredients for alot of problems.

Java can be a vulnerability in itself. So when this is acting weird plus no firewall and antivirus can be trouble indeed. It is possible you're infected causing you this trouble.

When you're confident your PC is a mess most likely and when you don't realy know what you're doing, you're most likely better off calling a specialist where you live to take a closer look.

The problems you have are most likely not related to the DCS product, so it's all pure love when more help is given. However, some rudimentary knowledge of managing a PC is needed to proceed.

 

When the registery is damaged, downloads get damaged, maybe AV software damaged and maybe a security breach in your wireless network belongs to the posibilty's.

But all this is still a very wild guess while is site many 1000's of km from your PC. When i'm right no system restore or 3rd party fixing programs will fix your problem. Alot of 3rd party fixing programs are malware by themselves even bombarding you with commercials when you don't want it etc.

HDD nad Ram, what you mean? can you elaborate so I can understand? For Ram I have 12gb working HDD= Hard drive Disk?

This is so overwhelming, at this point I dont know what to do first. I guees try to see if the pc is corrupt and try to fix it since the files I download dont have the same MD5 number that the one post it by DCS. Got a question bud, I was thinking in buying another good new hardrive leaving windows in the other one things it load good and fast and using the new one for all the SIM's. is this a good idea? my hard drive is and old one that I took from and old pc that I have. and is the only thing in 5.9 (windows score of machine, dont recall the name).

HI all.

 

First of all I want to thanks everyone for in a way or another help me out in this process on getting back DCS to my pc.

 

What I wanted to add and maybe this will help anyone having the same problems in anyway in downloading, installing or updating. Is to check your computer hardware.

 

In my case it was the HDD. Yea for me that I'm not a guru in computer was hard to figure out quick before downloading several times and I mean several times via torrent, ftp or Http. with no luck. Also having problems installing BS1 from the DVD. I built a good computer but in that time to save some money I kept my HDD, it was old a SATA I think. So I was having all kind of troubles doing this.

 

I just bought and SSD 128 Vortex 4 and to tell you the truth is that is and amazing pieces of hardware, at my computer points the only thing low was that 5.9 and everything else was on 7, now the HD is at 7.9 leaving everything else at 7.4 :).

 

The process for installing everything meaning DCS world, DCS BS1 and upgrating to BS2 and DCS A10 took me almost 2 hours including downloads and instaling with no problem.

 

So to resume. Pleople check your systemes I know that every case is diferent but in my case this was my problem. Hope this help someone in that stage of crisis :lol: that I was.
