Kh58 self detruct

In the 104th I launched a Kh58 at an active target that self destructed.

 

All looked good, target locked and LA. As soon as I fired the missile traveled for a second or two before detonating right in front of me. A second launch attempt with a KH25MPU shortly after did the same thing.

 

Is this a usual thing, a server set random failure, targeting issue?

I had already used my first Kh58 to take out another system so I believe all was set correctly. Using the Elint really is pretty simple though isn't it?

Just wonder if this is a usual thing or something was plain wrong about what I was doing?

I.E. is there a problem that would cause a missile to self destruct post launch?
