_RAAF_Sniper Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 from what i heard and was pointed out to me that DCS only uses 2 cores. so i embarked on trying to work this problem out, here's what i came up with so far the ones that have tried it have gotten faster load times and faster rendering when spawning as in the cockpit textures \DCS World\Bazar\Graphics back up your file called RenderStateParser.cfg replace with the one thats atached (only 4 core CPU's for this test } S! try it and give feedback pleaseRenderStateParser.zip my specs are i5 3570 IVY at 4.2 / 24gig of ram / 2tb of hd / duel gtx570's / 32' 120 hertz led mon. / ch stick ped & throt (VTA-Sniper standby) alot of bias crap on here
Mustang Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Not to be a downer or anything but if optimising DCS was this simple wouldn't you think ED would have made use of this a long time ago? Anyways you should provide us with a comparison of a before and after results, maybe outputting some FRAPS data so we can see the possible differences :) 1
Milli Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Isn't this just the same as setting the affinity using the task manager? i.e just select 2 cores for the dcs.exe process. Regards, Milli

GregP Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 On my system, using this file doesn't affect my loading time or FPS at all. Anything's worth a try though!
Frogisis Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 This seems to give me a bit of a boost, but even looking at the numbers it's not enough to be sure it isn't all in my head. For when it goes wrong: Win10x64, GTX1080, Intel i7 @3.5 GHz, 32GB DDR3, Warthog HOTAS, Saitek combat rudder pedals, TrackIR 5 / Vive Pro, a case of Pabst, The Funk
Mustang Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 I carried out a test with this modded file by running a small 1min benchmark track file, results compared with the default were practically identical
_RAAF_Sniper Posted March 25, 2013 Author Posted March 25, 2013 I carried out a test with this modded file by running a small 1min benchmark track file, results compared with the default were practically identical load times and render times when spawning in a new ac were the most prevalent and most comented on and less micro studders when in flyby mode my specs are i5 3570 IVY at 4.2 / 24gig of ram / 2tb of hd / duel gtx570's / 32' 120 hertz led mon. / ch stick ped & throt (VTA-Sniper standby) alot of bias crap on here
KLR Rico Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Load times are unchanged for me. :( At least for the instant action mission I tried. I have dual quad core, but I imagine the settings should work for me either way? i5-4670K@4.5GHz / 16 GB RAM / SSD / GTX1080 Rift CV1 / G-seat / modded FFB HOTAS
