Gavilan_PAV Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Hi After installing DCSw 1.2.3 in my computer, I'm facing a strange problem. The sound is not working. Of course audio is activated in the settings menu, and in the operating system as well. After 24h investigating I'm not able to make DCSw sound My operating system is WinXp SP3 32 bits and have DirectX9c installed. In the same box I've other sims like FS9, Prepar3D, Falcon 4 BMS, LOMAC Flaming Cliffs2, and never before I had sound issues with them Any help will be appreciated Thank you in advance
Madone Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 ah 32 bits, it never smells good when I read that.... Do you have a soundcard? Actually you should post your specs please. PS : you should have posted it in the bugs & problems section. Gavilan_PAV Posted March 25, 2013 Author Posted March 25, 2013 Hi Thank you and sorry for posting here. If you want I can post this topic again in the proper section My soundcard is integrated in the motherboard and has Realtek Chipset. Madone Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Hi, no prob I'm just saying, I'm not a moderator, it's moved anyway :) Take a look here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1693367&postcount=46 May be a DirectX or realtek driver problem. Check it out. Gavilan_PAV Posted March 26, 2013 Author Posted March 26, 2013 Yeah!!!! I checked dcs.log. There was written something like "Update your DirectX Runtime" And that`s what I did, with succesfull results Thank you very much PS: I hope the other simulators which with I had no sound-related issues still work propertly :) Didn't test it PS2: DCSw runs veeeeeery smoothly in my dual core 2,6 GHZ computer. Maybe due to my imagination or ilusion, but I feel it has a better performance than FC2 Regards and thanks
Madone Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Nice! You're very welcome! You'll not have any issues with the other games, don't worry, it's better to be up to date most of the time (And I see the other games you play require a DirectX updated anyway). It's really rare to hear someone satisfied with DCS World on a 32 bits OS, but as you are happy with your product I wish you to have fun flying around!! Good day. joey45 Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 You would probably need to upgrade to a 64bit O/S soon......ish. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. Madone Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 (edited) Yep since they will not suport the 32bits in the future. Gavilan_PAV Posted March 27, 2013 Author Posted March 27, 2013 Yeah, as soon as I can collect enough money to upgrade the computer as well I guess the sim is going so smooth, because although I have an old box (dual core, 3 Gb, nVidia GeForce 9800 GT 1 Gb), it's dedicated exclusively for simulation, and optimized for this purpose. I have no software installed, which is not directly related to simulation, nor antivirus, nor office tools, nothing, and all unnecesary services stopped. For this reason sometimes I find that any component could not be upgraded (like DirectX in this case), since I hace Windows Update disabled, and only install concrete things that I could need (like upgrading DirecX in this case) Regards
