Any idea where I can get a good stick extension for the HOTAS warthog that allows me to put the base of the stick on the floor, like in the A-10C? How expensive would this be. Has anyone been able to build one themselves? Thanks

A stick extension is nice for a few reasons but one of them is not for butting the base on the floor. That makes it far too long. You want a small extension, e.g. up to 100mm and then some sort of platform for the base to sit on that brings the handle up to the correct height.

That's exactly what I did. Put the base on the floor, extension is about 9 inches, I find this a good length and prob similar to RL. I found a small extension just didn't 'feel' realistic. Just adjusted my elevator/ aileron axis to suit.

If it works for you then thats all that matters!

I had feedback from five or six people that tried this and didn't like it because either the movement was too much or they didn't like that the stick did not return to center by itself.

The only other thing, which is completely preference is if you do dogfighting then you tend to have to make many and long movements thats actually a bit more tiring than anything else lol :)

Yeah, unfortunately, I don't have that much money. I think I'll just attach my joystick to my chair. Thanks for the info

Gods, my extension cost me no more than £12! I got the Gardena hose fixing from the US, 12in of 16mm copper piping, 2x 22mm to 16mm pipe reducers and the ps2 cable then wrapped it in some foam insulation. Easy peasy

Metal, I adjusted my cures to make it more sensitive so I don't have to move the stick so far. Although it is true that the stick won't self centre after moving it more than a few inches but that doesn't bother me. And luckily I don't/ can't dog fight much in the hog!
