custom09 Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Hey guys, just a couple questions I need cleared up. 1) When looking at the map in mission planner or in the game is it normal that the location of the SAMs don't appear? It just shows tanks and some other guys. 2) When inputing L/L coordinates can I enter single digets? For example 42 42 6. Does it have to be 06? Or 042 5 25, should it be 042 05 25? Thanks

Thanks Not 100% sure on #2 but I think I saw somewhere that you have enter the leading zero. I have yet to figure out how to do it myself so you may not want to listen to me. :pilotfly:
Blooze Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 What appears in the map is determined by the mission designer. Usually you can open the mission in the mission editor and change the settings so that what you want to appear on the map will be there after saving the changes. You can enter the coords in the CDU exactly as they appear on the map or from JTAC and they will be transposed correctly after entry. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Zenra Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Whether you must enter leading or trailing zeros depends on whether you are using L/L or MGRS. with the former, you need to enter the leading zero for the longitude degree field, but it is always advisable to enter zeros where they belong to avoid misinterpretation by the CDU. For MGRS you have options but have to be careful to keep the northings and eastings the same number of digits or you'll end up with a point way off where you intend.
