TC Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Just now I find in the DCS World Config/ Graphics tab a thing called "Preload Radius". Might be in there for some time, but I never noticed ... What does it "preload" and what is then with whatever is beyond that range ?? Thx TC
snuffles Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 It is the range at which you receive love from other players. The higher it is, the more chance of lovins :) No, seriously it's to do with the loading of graphical elements into the graphics card's memory. Trees, buildings, clutter, terrain, etc. If you set this to a low value, you will load in very quickly, but you may experience stutter as objects are buffered in on the fly. I don't always openly list my things. But when I do, I put it in my signature.

There are tabs for trees and bushes, so these are loaded seperately? What´s with airplanes, ground units and whatever I might place on the map? Those just floating in space? Cheers TC

These murderously feckless fiends have only destruction and wanton mayhem on their minds! :D ♫ ' Papa was a hairy mole.....Wherever he dug a den was his home ' ♫
roob Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 500+ views and noone knows ?? Or cares ?? ... The question is answered. It's the distance at which objects gets loaded into memory. Trees being visible and being loaded is not the same thing. My DCS stream [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Past broadcasts, Highlights Currently too much to do... But watch and (maybe) learn something :)
