cheap charlie Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 I would like to hear from experienced simmers regarding the i5. basically is it possible to fly the A10 without the 15 and be just as competitive as the guy who does use it?
tusler Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Hi, I am still using a Track IR3 Pro and considering we need to be competitive with ground targets it works fine. The biggest difference I see is the zoom in and out to specific gauges and stuff has to be manually compensated for with good key and joystick setup. But since I am on a tight budget it works fine for me. Ask Jesus for Forgiveness before you takeoff :pilotfly:! cheap charlie Posted April 27, 2013 Author Posted April 27, 2013 because i use a projector screen I would need to rig up a ceiling mounted device for I5 but as you say most of the targets are forward so Im wondering apart from the zoom, just how effective it is, in other words is it a game breaker/maker
metalnwood Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 If you dont have one at all then it is a great improvement to the game. I think people have even mounted the camera behind them for projectors and somehow inverted the trackir axis. I have only used one on a projector for testing for a short time. It still adds a lot but I was a trackir veteran, for a new person it might take a little while to get used to such a large picture moving about. You suckered me in to this post, hardcore and trackir. I thought it was something else.
NhiTrac Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 You guys talking about track ir5? (Googled track i5 thinking it was some new hardcore tracking device but nuttin)... If so, I won't play any flight sims without it. It's a bit like trying to fly with a keyboard... metalnwood Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Sitting in a chair shouldnt be a problem, just map the trackIR 'center' function to a button so that if you move out of place too much in your chair you just hit the buttons and you are placed properly in the aircraft.
Wayc00lio Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Hahaha. Picturing you with electrodes glued to your head!! Quality!! Nah, Im a bit clumsy so a strong chance of possibly reversing the current :dunno: thanks metal I didnt think of that and that could be the solution, not ideal but better than zip.
