Nice flying

I think a large part of where you set the cyclic curve depends on the controller you are using.

Using the hog hotas I started with the defaults, i think 30, then moved them to 40 cause fealt it was way to sensitive. This caused its own set of problems with me having to move the stick more in its axis to get response and then in the opposite direction again, ended up chasing it all the time, inducing oscillations.

I have now gone completely the other way and am currently ok with a curve of 10.

The hotas is not smooth off the cetner, like a U2nxt cougar, or the saitek sticks.

It requires some extra force to move it and as such you cant just manipulate it with 2 fingers, which I have always found irritating. Gonna mod the springs for sure.

I've cracked it!

How? Simple - switched my Warthog HOTAS for my G940. Force Feedback roolz! :D

Seriously - all over the joint with the TM job, not perfect, but controlled take-offs straight away with the G940, and smooth flight no problem. Didn't do anything to the axes except a large-ish dead zone for the pedals (which I found were reversed, too, making it that much more tricky).

Yippee - was beginning to regret it, but now I'm all smiles again :D

I did do a video of my first proper take-off, but it has recorded both my monitors (second one is blank) so don't think it will go on YT. (it did - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZ_zlTlsLV0&feature=youtu.be )

Probably a good thing as I tried to fly under a bridge and guess what? Yup - it wouldn't fit! :P

First flight is out of the way - wasn't pretty but I didn't damage anything :D

Going to remove the big spring in the HOTAS warthog, should make it a bit easier for me.

Video of this flight;

Found some nice square pads near the heli ramp at Tbilisi to practice with, perfect for lifting and setting down quickly.

Also really pleased with the results from removing the big spring out of the HOTAS Warthog.
