na, brother... unless ur 3d printer produces derlin plastic, you are better off buying one.

have the best prices for parts.

did you make this?

the 1/4 or 3/8 rod that you are using will not last long if you wear out the clamp.

my design uses a 1" diameter aluminum rod, more surface area for friction....

but if ur design is working, good stuff!

Yes. I made that. I have not had much testing though. Still working on the prototype. The friction piece is nylon and the shaft is SS and it rides in ball bearings so I don't see it degrading to quickly. Well I hope not anyway : ).

Maybe I will bump it up a size or two.

I was going to use the nylon instead of derlin. Its extremely slippery and self lubricating. There is also the problem of the Accuracy of the printer. It most likely will not be as smooth. I wont know until I try it.

i used the spring as a counter weight.

because i feel a slight resistance pulling up the collective, but none pushing down so i used the spring to have resistance dropping the collective down.

if i can go back, i would have done both a counter weight, and counterweight spring together, so i can get a balance.

i did no bending, it was pipe/conduit parts from home depot that i used to make the cyclic shaft...

Hi all

I am going to start working on my first Helicopter controls tonight. I want to start a thread for us heli pilots to come together to post our creations and findings. I will start off with a few examples of products on the market and home built masterpieces I have come across.

My plans at this point are to start working with what I have. I purchased some hall effect sensors, some magnets and a leo bodnar BU0836X. I plan to make my own collective, cyclic and rudder pedals from scratch. For now I have a TH warthog, X52, Saitek combat pedals.

I am going to first extend my Warthog using the gardena method. I have a 3d printer on the way so the creative juiced are flowing!!!!

Use of hall effect sensors.

I have been away for a while, just doing some searching in relation warthog extensions as I have started manufacturing adaptors and found a photo of one of my early systems that was sent to the US, I must say that I am flattered at it being used as an example photo, Thanks Mark Rainman Simulators
