I did not start this thread to say the Huey was "Soooo OMG!" But just to say thank you for the hard work and very well detailed model...

The single player campaign is great fun. It's quite unique doing transport missions, chopping up rivers in the morning sun and landing at LZ's during peace keeping missions.

I drive a 70s muscle car.

 

It has no traction control, power steering, or anti-skid brakes.

 

It only has an AM radio and a heater that takes 10 minutes to warm up.

 

But it's made of metal, sounds like a growling bear and looks the way a car is supposed to look.

 

It feels right.

 

I think the Huey feels the same.

We are brothers-in-car! I drive the same car. I think you forget to mention the smelt. It smelt as a car - no fresh plastick, no post burner chemical exhaust smelt. :)

I also don't really get it. What is so amazing about it that just trashes A10C and Ka50? So far all comments about "OMG is so amazing" looked to me like a scene from "The fifth element".

For me it`s the point that the Huey is the first DCS aircraft in conventional helicopter design. So many aspects that I can compare to my IRL flying. With Ka-50 I can`t. I was eager to do ARs with a helicopter that has a tailrotor and skid`s instead of landing gear. The Ka-50 is usually flown by miliary pilots, the Huey not. So I can speak to people: Hey look and try that DCS Huey and see what can be archived on PC regarding realistic helicopter simulation. I can better talk about to my buddies (who also fly IRL), because it`s more known then the Ka-50.

Sure and the possibilities for more variation in missions. I.e. troop transport/sling load. Is is very likely that when there is a troop transport helicopter in DCS that this area will be further developed and all that inspires me. And you may know that the Huey development is laying the foundation for multicrew(AFAIK).
