Andydigital Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 (edited) I use Emergency Governor too, just in case I need even more reserve power. It's actually scripted for the Co-Pilot to turn the governor back to auto again after you clear the summit, so they are expecting you to use it. There is now way any pilot without a death-wish would have landed in that other spot, yes I did manage it once out of about 10 tries but that just goes to prove the point even more that it was a really stupid place to pick up. I could maybe manage it if I had enough power to remain in a hover with a skid touching the ground but... yeah not at 18.5 thousand. Edited February 7, 2018 by Andydigital
rge75 Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 It's probably scripted because it already was in DCS 1.5. I really didn't feel like I need more power. On the other hand, I was really in fear that I hit my tail when I did the 2nd take-off from the summit... Anyway, your file worked fine and I successfully finished the mission. Thanks again. Just for fun, I recorded the session (cut it down to the key scenes though): Unfortunately hardly any external views (broken trk file) - and the weather was also very clear. I wish it would have had more clouds. Just wondering if you do the same route or if you take another one? For the 2nd ride down, I decided to take the "alternate" route for the first time. Andydigital Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 Yeah the track files always break for me after the first engine shutdown, it just sits there and does nothing for the rest of the replay. I’ll have a look at your video in a bit I’m watching TV just now.
Andydigital Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 (edited) I start the run the same way and come back down the same valley, but I go to the left side of the summit as seen from your video, if you go over the first ridge on the left side there is another ridge line just beyond it and it’s that one I then follow up to the summit saddle. I go back down the side you went up and turn to about 120 degrees and choose one of the two valleys depending on the clouds. By the way I think the weird sound in your videos is caused by clipping, try lowering your main volume slider in DCS down to about 25 or less and it should stop the stuttering. World might need dropping a lot too as it’s the rotor slap that is overloading the sound. Edited February 7, 2018 by Andydigital
rge75 Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 (edited) Interesting, I may try this route as well once. It's funny that people often complain about the sound in my video. Personally, I don't notice that the sound shall by weird. My sound is only at 27% in DCS. Maybe it's also because I use a different Huey sound (Huey Skullz's Genuine Sound Mod 2.5). Another theory, if the sound really is weird, that it's a recording problem. My save folder for the Shadow Copy video is on the SATA-Raid and not on the SSD. Anyway, I'm going off-topic. I'll give reducing the volume a try when I do another video though. Edit: concerning the trk - it was my fault. I was watching it and noticed that I didn't turn on recording. Thus, I quit and didn't think that the trk has now been overwriten. Edited February 7, 2018 by rge75 My DCS videos https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJX2av4UE4xqWto3y8EZWMw [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
