Everyone is welcome to the server for training and general fun, I assume there will always be veteran P-51D pilots that can assist with any questions (Volunteers are welcome - PM me :)).

Voice communication will be done via Teamspeak, once in the server the Teamspeak address will be given to you.

Have a great time flying this awesome Mustang :pilotfly:

I really have to learn how to get online, and even install TeamSpeak one of these days. I am missing a lot int this area :-/

DCS's online capabilities must be great. It's really been a loooong time since I last got online on a sim (around 2005 maybe, when I bought the 1st version of IL2...).

One question: In your server, is the use of TeamSpeak mandatory? Are there any mission documents / briefings available online for study / preparation?

Thx for making available this server :-)

The use of TeamSpeak is not mandatory, but we do require following the mission rules which will be written in the mission briefing and accessible all the time from inside the mission.

Unfortunately most of the training documentation we have are written in Hebrew.

I can give some directions for new comers if they wish to start learning various aspects of dogfighting, navigation & engine management -

Engine management & navigation - The DCS: P-51D manual is pretty extensive in this area, you can find it in your - installation folder\mods\P-51D\docs\

Dogfighting - This topic is very wide and includes many disciplines but I believe Robert L. Shaw has a great handbook about it - Fighter Combat: Tactics and Maneuvering, it can be found here (Admins, I'm not sure if it is allowed to post this link here, if it isn't please remove it).

In his book I recommend reading the following subjects -

2 Basic Fighter Maneuvers

3 One-versus-One Maneuvering, Similar Aircraft

4 One-versus-One Maneuvering, Dissimilar Aircraft

5 Section Tactics, Two-versus-One

6 Section Tactics, Two-versus-Two

7 Division Tactics

8 Unlimited-Aircraft Tactics

10 Tactical Intercepts

Appendix: Fighter Performance

Hope this can help out anyone who seeks some info about flying the P-51D.

Was very fun last night, the FW-190D9s AI was very challenging!

For the testers and developers, the AI engagment is not dynamic enough, for example - once the AI had a target it would continue to persuit that target no matter what is going on around, It ment that whoever was engaged first could easly drag the targets for others to engage.
