GC1993 Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Hi, I'm experiencing two problems that I don't know how to solve, any suggestions welcome. Firstly, I cannot get my AWACS to be operational on a single player mission I've created. His task is set to AWACS, he is in an orbit at 30,000 feet about 150 miles away from all the action, but he just won't communicate or anything, and I don't have the AWACS option show up on the comms menu. It's in flaming cliffs 3, and both myself and the AWACS are set to the same frequency. Any ideas? Secondly, I want to know how you set a trigger like in the instant action missions. For example, how do I set it that a new flight of enemy fighters spawns at a certain point AFTER I splash a current flight, rather than having an old fashioned time delay on them like I'm employing now. Thanks
Razor5-1 Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 (edited) If you set the fighters you just knocked out to a group, then in the ME, use the function group destroyed, then add new group of two fighters. I'll set one up quick and send it to you.Example Gc 1993.miz Edited May 9, 2013 by Razor5-1
Sabre-TLA Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 I ran into a similar problem with the AWACS comms converting an FC2 mission to FC3. My solution was to start with a clean new FC3 mission and then create my units new in that mission. Then I copied all the triggers, goals, action, routes, etc. Sounds like you are starting clean anyway so I would ensure your player unit is close to the AWACS to start with and at least have line of sight to each other. For your second question you could use late activation on the unit and use the group activate trigger action once the condition is met for the group dead unit. GC1993 Posted May 9, 2013 Author Posted May 9, 2013 Cheers guys! Got my ME fighters to do what I want now, it's made the mission much better. As for the AWACS, I'll move him closer to my flight when I next go on DCS and see if it works. Thanks for the help :)
