Hello Pilots!

Today i was trying to fly some Missions...

I've connected my X52 (non Pro) to my PC and what happends?

NOTHING!

The Thruttle is working fine but the Joystick there is only the little green Light "POWER" but everything else isn't working...

No LED's (blue),can't use it etc..

Like it's dead.

Yesterday everything worked fine!

Today? plugged in = nope.

Do you have ANY Idea how i can repair this?

No Warrenty, 3 years old.

Worked fine until now.

And i've allready tryed 9 diff. USB Ports

Just as the pro , the x52 uses a cable to connect the two pieces.

Make sure both ends are secure ,even thought the power light is on the rest of the connection may be severed. Just the other day, my cable came loose , not out just loose and the lights flickered and I had erratic control.

If that is not the case and you are a brave soul, tale a look inside for any loose wires/connectors. Also make sure the connection cable is not severed /shorted.

Happens to me sometimes also, is there a cable replacement?

I just checked the Saitek forum and there are plenty of ppl having issues with the cable between the units. I also found it can be replaced with a PS2 to PS2 male connector - bog-standard PS/2 Male-Male.

Yes indeed. I replaced my cable a week after I got the X-52 Pro. It started acting up almost from day one. The cable is easy to find, although a short one is not. The are/were commonly used on KVM switches.

This may sound stupid but I use to have one of those and the more I hear the woes of those using this stick with that twitchy cable surely it would be better to open it up and hard wire it or solder it up so it stats connected just a thought.

Perhaps, but I suspect the problem is nothing more than Saitek buying a very cheap, low quality cable. Once I replaced mine with a 6ft KVM cable (for about $5), the problem was gone completely and permanently.

EDIT: Also, depending on your setup, it may be highly desirable to maintain the ability to disconnect the units from each other and if you want to run the cable some along some long route, it is easy to get very long cables like this. A few years ago I threw away 6 or 8 that were 25 feet long.

Hello and thank you everyone for the answers...

I've tried everything but i think it's broken.

I ordered a new X52 PRO (for the HOTAS i don't have enough money ;)

Should be here in about 1 week.

Will try to repair my "old" X52 and i will give you feedback.

Greetings
