Tempting but why

Good find, it's always tempting with new drivers but why? Any word on what's new? My current setup (X-45) works pretty well but I havn't been able to setup the mouse cursor for eight way operation, only four:(

The ones that came on CD work well with my X52.

I'll ask then again. Any release notes and/or version history for these new drivers?

there were two main problems that are troubling me:

1. the crazily drifting mouse

2. being unable to set up the "win" button

But I still have to wait for some time before I can tru out the new drivers, so any review from the community is welcome.

cant calibrate

ok, so I couldnt resist. It was working and now its not..damn.

There used to be a calibrate button in windows control panel under game devices but now I cant find it anymore, help would be much appreciated.

Also, there seem to be a new service running SaiMfd.exe , dont think I had it before.

It was before. No stress. It's very usefull process.

You can totally get rid of SaiSmart.exe, because it has nothing to do with X52 whatsoever. It's process for Saitek game pads.

There used to a calibrate..now there isn't and it's by design...

If your calibration is off: follow these instructions (X45 users):

<SNIP from Saitek Forum>

Hi,

You shouldn't need to, provided you have the newer version of the X45 (the one that came with the V1.0 CD). If you have the older version and find that it's not looking correct in the calibration screen then try the following:

Unplug the controller, click Start>Run, type regedit and click OK. In the Registry Editor browse to the following folders in order:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

SYSTEM

CurrentControlSet

Control

MediaProperties

PrivateProperties

DirectInput

And delete the VID_06A3&PID_053C (or VID_06A3&PID_2541) folder. Plug the controller back in, rotate the stick and move the throttle and rudder fully a couple of times and see if that has fixed it.

</SNIP>

Thanks,

Brett

I've got problems with these too. The AUX 1 switch (X45) seems to be ignored by the profiles. No problem with the switch itself, the computer sees the input fine. But with any profile loaded, I don't get any response. Using XP Home.

I have the exact same problem. I posted on their forums.
