Darkwolf187 Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Silly question. Does anyone know if it's possible to change the instrumentation (hud and gauge instruments) in the Ka-50 to Imperial (ie, aviation standard) quantities? So, stuff like; Altitude: Feet Distance: Nautical miles Speeds: Knots Weight (aircraft and fuel quantity): Pounds Air pressure: Inches of mercury (inHg) I know those units are pretty crud and in normal life I use metric everywhere, but I'm used to aviation units being as above, and it really throws me hopping into the Ka-50 and everything being metric :)

But I got to learn to fly in metric system first so I kinda got used to it and know the analogy by heart now. Griffin Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 No idea but I'm used to metric too. But using imperial is not a problem and it's just part of the simulation.
Erforce Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Honestly, i don't think it's possible. As you can't play A-10 in metric style. I suppose it's internally programmed in the source code. But, who am I to say that ? at least with metric units, i don't have to convert anything to know exactly what's going on around me ;) TASK / ROLES acronyms guide Black Shark A.I. datalink guide illustrated (v1.2.4 Available on Wiki) DCS World Codex 1.1 : full units list (Speed/Weapons/Armor thickness/Threat zone/Weapon damage...) Darkwolf187 Posted May 28, 2013 Author Posted May 28, 2013 I've never tried, but whatif you select IMPERIAL in Options? Makes no difference, they're already set that way :(
Erforce Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Setting Imperial in option will display imperial units with external view (info bar) TASK / ROLES acronyms guide Black Shark A.I. datalink guide illustrated (v1.2.4 Available on Wiki) DCS World Codex 1.1 : full units list (Speed/Weapons/Armor thickness/Threat zone/Weapon damage...) Ich666 Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 You can do it in the abris computer. What he says, fiddle around with the ABRIS settings, theres an option under UNITS where you can change all your units. This wont change the Instruments though, you'll have to take a look at the ABRIS if you want to know your speed in knots.
Devrim Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Actually gauges can be changed by graphically. But this would be long process. :) Intel i7-14700@5.6GHz | MSI RTX4080 SuperSuprimX | Corsair V. 64GB@6400MHz. | Samsung 1TB 990 PRO SSD (Win10Homex64) Samsung G5 32" + Samsung 18" + 2x8"TFT Displays | TM Warthog Stick w/AVA Base | VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle | TM MFD Cougars | Logitech G13, G230, G510, PZ55 & Farming Sim Panel | TIR5 & M.Quest3 VR >>MY MODS<< | Discord: Devrim#1068
Devrim Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 As Ich666 and Bee_Sting say, in the ABRIS; Options > Units > Change And HUD changes too. 1 Intel i7-14700@5.6GHz | MSI RTX4080 SuperSuprimX | Corsair V. 64GB@6400MHz. | Samsung 1TB 990 PRO SSD (Win10Homex64) Samsung G5 32" + Samsung 18" + 2x8"TFT Displays | TM Warthog Stick w/AVA Base | VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle | TM MFD Cougars | Logitech G13, G230, G510, PZ55 & Farming Sim Panel | TIR5 & M.Quest3 VR >>MY MODS<< | Discord: Devrim#1068
Darkwolf187 Posted May 28, 2013 Author Posted May 28, 2013 Aha! That'll do it. I can live with the needle gauges still being in metric, it's the hud that really throws me. Thanks for that!
Devrim Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Actually, if nobody is working on it, I can convert all gauges to other system. If there are anybody to interest with it. I mean if it is worth to do. :joystick: Intel i7-14700@5.6GHz | MSI RTX4080 SuperSuprimX | Corsair V. 64GB@6400MHz. | Samsung 1TB 990 PRO SSD (Win10Homex64) Samsung G5 32" + Samsung 18" + 2x8"TFT Displays | TM Warthog Stick w/AVA Base | VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle | TM MFD Cougars | Logitech G13, G230, G510, PZ55 & Farming Sim Panel | TIR5 & M.Quest3 VR >>MY MODS<< | Discord: Devrim#1068
justoc Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 (edited) If you are willing to look at the ABRIS you can change the measurement system to knots/feet/mmhg. You go into options from the homepage and coordinate from there. Actually, if nobody is working on it, I can convert all gauges to other system. If there are anybody to interest with it. I mean if it is worth to do. :joystick: Hell, why not. I would like my HUD and gauges to read knots for when I play missions online and have to report speed. DieHard Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 What he says, fiddle around with the ABRIS settings, theres an option under UNITS where you can change all your units. This wont change the Instruments though, you'll have to take a look at the ABRIS if you want to know your speed in knots. If your F-key external view is implimented in Multiplayer, it shows altitude above sea level and speed in not metric values in the lower "task-bar". I think this is also true in Single Player.
