Hey Guys!

After successfully setting up my new PLP-view using SoftTh, which looks now like this:

P5300372.thumb.JPG.c097628bfc231ae3cd3c58a7963ec658.JPG

I'm having this problem:

P5300375.thumb.JPG.1e82fb9514e8527e89978ad89ffcc167.JPG P5300376.thumb.JPG.8e1296856af6b65505b63c7546d0ca7c.JPG

As you can see, with the external views (F2, F3) the midpoint is near the bottom of my mainscreen.

My question:

Is it possible, to change the Viewpoint like in the Cockpit and move this external views in the Y-axis so that the ext. view is again in the middle of my mainscreen??

Thanks

F2+R-alt will let you toggle so the mouse changes camera position

And

F2+L-alt will swap so the camera looks away from the focus vehicle but is controlled the same as normal F2 view.

No easy way to solve this- mid point is always determined by overall Render-space by the pinhole camera of the Graphic-engine.

As the focal center of a view-port is always in the absulute middle of a render.

You have to start the render of the center view-port in a negative Y value , but DCS doesn't allows this. So you have add phantom space of a virtual monitor at the top (softth can do this ) to shift the whole view up while keeping the lower part filled.

... But this will bring a lot of problems with menu items and so on.

It's similar like doing something like this but without a existing top monitor:

Thanks so much Peter!

I will give it a try when i have time for some experiments ;)

For now, Mewle's solution is acceptable. Unfortunately it does not stay in this position when entering a new aircraft.

Thanks Guys!

I was just playing around with this and acceptable is about all it is. I managed to almost totally lose the aircraft from view before I figured out how the two modes worked together when toggling F2+L-alt.

I wonder if the default position of the camera is a value in a file that can be edited. If you got it in the sweet spot and could find those modified values maybe they could replace the default values.

Although I'm sure PeterP would've said if it was so.

Sorry PeterP you've witnessed my forum greeness twice today :D

If you need it I can make you a video explaining how to move the camera position in-game. It's there from previous versions...

There was mods in FC2 that unlocked camera so it could even go below ground level... So - everything is possible and it can be done.

My question:

Is it possible, to change the Viewpoint like in the Cockpit and move this external views in the Y-axis so that the ext. view is again in the middle of my mainscreen??

Thanks

1. Set the desired ext. view

2. Unlock camera with LeftAlt+F2

3. While camera unlocked - look down

4. Use zoom in command to move the unlocked camera in space

5. Press LeftAlt+F2 to lock the camera

6. Turn your look into the desired/designated object/direction. You have moved negative value in Y axis.

Problem? I don't know how to make it do that by default instead of setting it up every time you start a new session.
