doveman Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 After updating to 1.2.4 I just got a completely black screen with BS2 (I saw the briefing/Fly button but that had a blank background behind it as well) (tested with default Instant Missions). I eventually fixed it by renaming my Saved Games/DCS folder so that it had to create a fresh one. Now I need to work out what I can copy back so that I don't have to setup everything again. The Config folder looks OK, certainly Input anyway. I can't see anything wrong in options.lua and network.cfg should be OK. I had created a autoexec.cfg with the following contents: options.graphics.maxfps = 30 options.graphics.render3D = false options.graphics.ScreenshotQuality = 75 and there's a Views/SnapViews.lua (which I think was automatically created). The Missions folder should be fine to copy as well and there's not really anything else worth copying (logs, screenshots) although there is a Scripts folder with export.lua in, so maybe that was the problem. BaD CrC Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Shouldn't you remove this autoexec.cfg? https://www.blacksharkden.com http://discord.gg/blacksharkden
doveman Posted June 6, 2013 Author Posted June 6, 2013 Well I haven't copied it back, so it's not present at the moment. I think I only created it recently as I read that the maxfps setting had been moved from a file in the DCS installation folder to here. Not really sure why I had the other two lines in there though, although I can't see why any of them would cause a black screen. Do you know where the maxfps is meant to be set now? Fishbreath Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 I'm not at all familiar with autoexec.cfg tweaks, but wouldn't 'options.graphics.render3D = false' seem to suggest that the game wouldn't render anything? I thought it was something to do with 3D actually but you could be right ;) Main rig: i5-4670k @4.4Ghz, Asus Z97-A, Scythe Kotetsu HSF, 32GB Kingston Savage 2400Mhz DDR3, 1070ti, Win 10 x64, Samsung Evo 256GB SSD (OS & Data), OCZ 480GB SSD (Games), WD 2TB and WD 3TB HDDs, 1920x1200 Dell U2412M, 1920x1080 Dell P2314T touchscreen
