IvanK Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 (edited) At present Runway lights are Time of day dependant only. In conditions of Low visibility they should be on as well... as is the case IRL. It would be great if both Time of Day and visibility were used to determine if runway lights are on or off. I would suggest the runway lights to be ON any time Visibility is < 1200metres night or day. Perhaps another option would be for a Drop down ATC menus to allow the pilot to request the lights to be turned on for the airfield he is landing at. Edited June 6, 2013 by IvanK
Nealius Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Dependent on weather as well. If in thunderstorms or snow the runway lights are lit. It would be nice for them to be lit when overcast or foggy, regardless of precipitation.
