Hi,

My OS is currently Windows 7 but I will install Windows 8.1 as soon as it's available. Could I transfer my license from one OS to another without losing an deactivation or activation?

Thanks.

I don't think you can. Just de-activate and install win8. It's really simple...

It's unlikely that you're running out of act and de-activations. IIRC you have 5 of them/month. Even if you do run out, a polite email to ED would get you back gaming ASAP...

Minor correction: 10 activations and 8 deactivations. When the last activation is spent, 30day timer starts and then you get it back.

Thanks for your explanations, I'm going to buy FC3 and Huey at 20th June but probably I will install Windows 8.1 when it is available.

Hi again, one more question please. Is it possible to export my eagle dynamics registry key before reinstalling O.S. and import it again when the O.S. is installed?

Thanks.

Your only option is to deactivate prior to OS installation, save the deactivation key and then reactivate after you are done. The unique OS identifier is part of the key system, if it changes (which it does when you reinstall it or install another version) without you deactivating, you will need to use up an activation afterwards. You can't just save the registry key, it won't work with the new OS.

Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two.

it really isn't a problem I have every module and A10 / BS2 from release and have changed/updated my comp several times and I still have plenty of activations left so don't panic about using 1 or 2.

Doesn't hurt him if he saves as many as possible, though...
