bestan Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 hi i wanted to buy more dcs modules but my online multiplayer experiece is not at all satisfiing wouldnt it be a good idea dcs providing online servers with standart missions so we can do training without having to read and understand new missions all the time just see most successfull games like bf cs etc.... with 100'000s of players but the most frustrating thing is that as soon as i idle 5 minutes i get kicked from the server giving message connection interrupted so i dont have time to answer a phone call or watch other players or other units of the dcs wold using the f keys or landing with the heli and see and think what to do next since it happens on every server seems to be a problem of main host or is this a problem of my internet connection? actually it happens to me only using dcs muliplayer otherwise i dont have any problems so if this is a parameter to be set - kicking from server because no aircraft controll input set it to at least 30 minutes dont be narrowminded thanks for help
dooom Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 many of us would consider the Dragon collection a "Standard" collection by now. IF you want a consistent, predictable set of missions, I would suggest you create some using the ME and put them up for everyone to enjoy. the process of mission making is VERY laborious and mission makers really see them as their "babies". So, i personally really enjoy seeing the new fruits from the community out there. As for the connection lost - try three things. 1. do a ping test to see what your jitter is - you might be suffering packet loss or on a poor wifi? 2. try to join servers of ping <200 if possible - i also look for larger # player slots assuming that the server has a descent enough upload to handle the clients. low numbers implies its being hosted on a personal PC and might drop my connection. 3. check that your options for Multiplayer are set to "LAN" connection. I hope that helps you out mate! ASUS Tuf Gaming Pro x570 / AMD Ryzen 7 5800X @ 3.8 / XFX Radeon 6900 XT / 64 GB DDR4 3200 "This was not in the Manual I did not read", cried the Noob" - BMBM, WWIIOL
ENO Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 3. check that your options for Multiplayer are set to "LAN" connection. This is the most common cause of issues I've yet come across. "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret. "Sweetest's" Military Aviation Art
Supersheep Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 You mean the issue is when it is set to lan, or when it is not set to lan? I didn't do any kind of testing, but personally I never noticed a difference and do belive this to be a placebo (with my small sample size, anything would be correct anyways). ENO Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Set internet connection speed to LAN. There's nothing placebo about it and it's a well advertised standard correction for connection interrupted issues. It's not a speed issue- it's a well known bug that is corrected by setting to LAN speed setting (not connection type). I've been hosting a 24/7 server for a year and a half and that is the #1 fix for connection issues. Not coincidentally, not being set to LAN is the #1 CAUSE of connection issues. Supersheep Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Ta! Looks like I need to read the forums more often (or at all...). Super- The PVC Pipe Joystick Stand How to thread
Wrecking Crew Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 bestan - Well, I shall assume you are on the latest DCS World v124, as you said you can Join servers. Not trying to be controversial here, but the problem is on your end. IMHO, there should be only one Connection Speed = LAN, I think all the other choices should be eliminated along with the option to select anything. There have been issues with prior DCS versions, but this latest has worked extremely well for stability. Like Eno, I am also running a server, and the Clients are able to stay connected for hours on end. Check this out - next time you connect to a server, bring up the Player Pool and note your ping. Watch the ping value to see if it is increasing over time - like increasing by 1 every second. Is this happening? If it is (I have seen this on my Client connection but not at v124) then eventually you will get to a point where your connection will break. When this was happening to me I called my ISP and complained and asked them to monitor my connection for a while - I can't really say why it was happening, but it is a place to start troubleshooting. My Hollo Pointe server has been wonderful since v124 and an SSD upgrade. Join it and see how things work for you.
