Any Aussie LogBook Mods ?

I've installed the package from DCS User Files (where you can download 3rd party files from). I can get the rank slides to show right, and the badges, but not the name. My PLTOFF still says Lieutenant (assuming it's the USAF rank).

Just checked out the log, on the current files, all seems fine to me.:thumbup:

I have updated the Logbooks as of 18July13, the medals have been updated and are now correct, im pretty sure the precedence is correct as well. The Logbook is now updating on DCS home site under "User Files" and will be available when as soon as they pass the checks.

 

 

 

Also for the Kiwis' i am making a Kiwi log book, if any Kiwi wants to help let me know, i have a fair amount of info but need some good pics of RNZAF Rank shoulder boards from Pilot officer to Group Captain.

After looking at exactly how you did things with the latest version, I have tweaked my US Navy logbook. I'd say it's ready for integration/prime time.

 

Here is something to consider for the Australia country identities: Rename one of them just "Australia" (like RAAF was in version 1), and have it part of the default blue coalition. Put the other one (I'll assume army) in the neutral coalition. You don't really need it in the mission editor (all you need is the one nation), and leaving it out will likely alleviate confusion when creating missions.

 

Of course, you could always leave it as is and let the mission designers keep it straight, but I thought I would pass on the brainstorm.

Comparing the Nation/Logbook related files between 1.2.5 and the 1.2.4 mod, here's what I've seen.

 

Sounds\Speech

Common.lua

Changes: Altimeter measurement type algorithm.

Fix: Just add your old edits to the new file.

 

 

Scripts\Database

db_countries.lua

Changes: Added CountryNameByID function for ModelViewer

Fix: Just add your old edits to the new file.

 

db_callnames.lua

Changes: tweaked addToTable function.

Fix: Just add your old edits to the new file.

 

 

 

No Change (just replace with existing modded file)

The logbooks work pretty much the same way they did before. All edits are copy and paste.

Yep, very straight forward install after 1.2.5 update. I've made some changes graphic wise to the troop badges and added a couple more SQN's ;).

 

How're you going with the US version Home Fries are you ready to send it over to Strut?

Just finished the USN and USMC mods, and tweaked the Air Force decorations. Problem is that people who use the USAF mods will either want to start new pilots or not have earned any medals yet, so I'm trying to figure out the most elegant way to work this. Right now the only thing I can think of is telling people to back up and manually edit their logbooks, so the USAF mod part of it should be optional.

 

I still need to test the logbook in 1.2.5. I was having some trouble with it, and I thought that I had a corrupted install because apparently my original logbook mod is now the default setting.

 

Once I run my mod through testing, I'll send the files to Strut, and he can integrate the edits. I included the Aussie entries in the commonly used files, so the integration shouldn't be too hard.

Appreciate that mate! I would certainly use an RNZAF logbook mod. Do you want a bunch of sqn crests and the like too? I'm sure I can find those.

The officer ranks are a little different to that pic. There is a light grey between each stripe in the RNZAF (something which always confuses visiting countries). Also the NEW ZEALAND is in black on the rank slides and the slide itself is a much lighter blue.

 

This picture here shows the grey behind each stripe, but even this isn't quite correct as the grey only appears between stripes not on the outer edges.
