On June 20, 2011 I purchased DCS A-10C Warthog on my Steam account.

I have it loaded on my current game system computer, it's different than what I had in 2011, and it's working fine using the activation key from Steam.

I'd been a solo, off line player previously, but have recently put time in and new gear and decided I would like to try it online.

I installed DCS World and tried to use the Steam key to activate the A-10 module, it gives a message about a hardware conflict.

Rather than try to deal with support, I just went ahead and purchased it again from this site figuring it'd work with a new key from here, but now it's giving an error message saying the serial # is wrong. I copied and pasted from the confirming email.

Any suggestions on how i can get this thing going?

thanks,

Rabble

Tried that multiple times, just to be sure...

Typing by hand or copy-pasting? When copy-pasting, did you make sure that the clipboard had not inserted a space at the end (easy to overlook)?

Error message.

I tried typing it in and copy/paste both multiple times.

the error message is:

A-10C - error (this is in the upper frame of the error window)

The system requires the correct Serial Number of the application to perform this operation. The Serial Number entered is wrong or mistyped. Enter a valid Serial Number and try again.

I'm entering the serial # that came in the email after I bought it about an hour and a half ago.

the window has a Back, Exit, and an Error report button. The error report comes to over 21MB. I didn't email it.

Windows Registry

Under:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER

Software

Eagle Dynamics

DCS A-10C (Folder) (version 1.1.1.1)

DCS World (Folder) (version 1.2.4.12179)

Warthog (Folder)

Keys (Folder) (LastNumber is the Steam Key)

License0 (Folder) (Number is Steam Key)

License1 (Folder) (Number is Steam Key)

I don't want to lose the ability to use the 1.1.1.1 Steam stand alone version.

Does this help?

Are you sure you are entering the serial number and not the transaction ID? They are rather easy to confuse for each other. If you want to doublecheck, you can find your serial number under digitalcombatsimulator.com -> login -> payments

I've just been on YouTube looking at some multiplayer videos.

Last night spent some time as a spectator in a few open multiplayer server missions.

Someone has got to figure this out for me and get me in there...

I've got plenty to keep me busy in the standalone version training additional aspects of this sim, but multiplayer looks like a real kick and a good way to learn even more...

PLEASE!!!!!!

HELP!!!!!

I'm trying. Are you saying that single player is currently working for you??? I did not get that from your previous posts.

Yes, I downloaded the standalone DCS A-10C from the DCS website a couple of months ago (version 1.1.1.1 is what it is now) and it works fine using my Steam Key. I didn't know there was a problem till I downloaded DCS World so I could get additional modules (I want the KA-50 and the P-51 to start) and do multiplayer.

When I first purchased DCS A-10 back in 2011, I did the same thing, downloaded it from the DCS website, not from Steam, but used the Steam Key, and it worked fine. Not sure if i ever attempted to get into multiplayer, don't think I got that far, but i might've popped in for a peek.

I can also still log into Steam and see it there as one of the usable items in my library.

When I go into DCS World and try to go into an A-10C, it comes up with the window for the serial # with it already filled in with the Steam Key #. It won't proceed with that one saying I have a hardware conflict. I've only had this system for about a year and a half, so it's not the one I installed on when I first purchased DCS A-10.

So, yes, I'm in single player in DCS A-10. the problem is getting into DCS World and through that getting into multi-player.

I went ahead and purchased another copy of DCS A-10 from the DCS website figuring that key would work with "World" to activate the A-10, but now it gives me the bad serial # error.

I've tried to copy/paste the serial # I got in the email, typing it in (very slowly) with and without the dashes multiple times but so far no joy.

Still a lot of practicing i can do in solo, so I'm not suffering withdrawal, but i would really like to get into some of the other aspects.

sorry for the length, but i'm trying to anticipate questions.
