2 Inherent problems, besides that its borring as hell as your the only one flying in it!

MS flight sim IMHO is a waste of time for the large majority of the people since those graphics and technology, and resourses could have been put up into a SIM where you can choose to fly military aircraft and all their systems. Not just cruising around.

"Just cruising around" is what 99% of general aviation private pilots do...

I wish MS would add the capability to add bullets, bombs and missiles etc so that we could have air combat add-ons
They made CFS for that purpose, it has combat with guns and rockets :)

Im sure they do, but is that what PC SIM'ers want? theres a difference between a professional pilot and the person behind the PC. Furthermore while you wont be easely bored by a real flight, a virtual one will.

Civilian flights are great in real life, it's a bit less enjoyable in MSFS ;)

Flying military aircraft is probably a lot more exciting in real life than in Lockon/F4..., but at least we have the Reset button :)

I thought the CFS series had been shelved though?

Yup it has been cancelled. There had been some shots floating around some time ago from a CFS4 pre-alpha version, which were closer to those FS X screens than to CFS3. However there's a lot more to ugrading a civilian flight sim engine to a combat sim than "just" weapons modeling - damage models, ground units, AI behaviour, special avionics for modern settings and preferably some kind of campaign system...

CFS3 apparently didn't do well enough for MS for another version, even if it would have been merely an update with the engine that is developed for the civilian sim line anyway.

Indeed, but the CFS4 cancellation info came more or less from "insiders", at least from what I remember... ;) If the screens that were shown back then (late 2004 I think) still haven't resulted in a new product, with MS I think it's safe to say they pulled the plug.

There were also rumours (probably out of desperations) that MS would indeed simply merge the CFS line into the standard Flight Simulator, but that was never a very realistic expectation.

Yes, I know what you’re talking about! Getting the Concorde @Mach 2+ and cruising

on the way to New York at that speed without running out of fuel or without failures is one hell of a job.

I have achieved to do the trip on the highest (most realistic settings)

Concorde Pro is an awesome add-on!

How about a Belgium UFO:http://users.skynet.be/VandenHaute/fs2004/switzerland_3.jpg

FS 2004 was not that bad! :icon_supe

Sonny:

Obviously you again have way more experience here than I do (LOL)......

I have a question, how long did it take you to achieve this feat???

I've only had this addon for about a month and I'm finding a little more time now since the Holidays are over to actually delve into the manual which is acutually guite thick.......

I mean they even go over the operation of the air handleing system, WOW!!!!!
