DCS World 1.2.5 auto-update failure

I've tried now on three occasions to update from DCS World v1.2.4 to 1.2.5 using the auto-updater.

Each time it has failed to install with the following message:

 

Contary to the last statement, I didn't stop the installation.

Anyone help please.

delete autoupdate.cache in saved games\DCS

then try run the game s administrator again(DCS_updater.exe under DCSW\bin).

It will verify your files again.Then it will start to update.the verify might take a little time.depends on your hard disk speed

Attaching Saved Games\DCS\autoupdate.log may be of a great help.

I deleted autoupdate.cache and run DCS_updater.exe as Admin, but it simply loaded up the existing 1.2.4 install. It didn't do any validity check.

 

For some reason the autoupdate file wont attach, but here is the autoupdate.txt contents:

If you do a fresh install with DCS_World_1.2.5.16184.220_226 and the Modules you use (for example A-10C_1.2.5.16184.220_226;CA_1.2.5.16184.220_226;FC3_1.2.5.16184.220_226) with the same version it will work properly, but make sure not to start the game at all while installing the different parts (uncheck the boxes start game ... ).

Done this I do use the updater (found in Windows 8 in the Startmenue). Todays Update 1.2.5.16508.225 should fix your problem. Went through different problems with ADD-ON activation two days ago (message invalid key when logging into multiplayer/wasn´t funny spending hours to fix it/ the system didn`t tell me wich one of six ADD-ONS it reports as invalid. At the end of the day it was the A-10C and I just had to wait. This morning I was happy about the update wich fixed the A-10C ADD-On issue, therefore the FC3 wasn´t there anymore (also not listed in the Module Manager anymore).

Yesterdays A-10C issue was related to a Steam install of DCS World. Today it shows that the Steam Version of the game and the non Steam Version of DCS World can be perfectly installed on a single PC. Thumps up for ED for the move to STEAM even if it caused some probs at my end :-). At the end of the day it is all fine again.

the updater only checks 1 time per 24 hours, so after you deleted the .cache file, the updater hasnt checked again.

I couldn't find or estimate which app. it is. Clicked on "Continue" and I got a second error message and failed installation.

 

Anyway; After a restart PC, update process went properly. No problem now.

It was DCS. No other program will use dll's from DCS directory.

I thought it was DCS first. No any software was running in that moment, including DCS.

Whatever. I just wanted you to know.

 

I didn't restart system for 4~5 days until update. May be this caused a kind of problem.
