Falcon127 Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 Just installed LOFC, :p I can Play the quick missions on the right side with the pictures of the Aircraft, but program locks up my computer:icon_evil every time when clicking on Replays, Training, ect…on the left side of window. I am down loading the PATCH 1.11 from the Lock-ON.RU site to see if this fixes it. Hope so. rasputin Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 Hi Falcon, IMO that system of yours deserves a better videocard....everything else looks spankin'! :icon_supe I hope you get the lockups sorted. ----------------------------- AMD Athlon 64 3800+ Asrock 939 Dual SATA 2 mobo 1024 Corsair PC3200 XFX 7800GT Antec True Blue 480 Samsung 940B Track IR4 Saitek X-45 HOTAS Win XP Pro
Falcon127 Posted January 10, 2006 Author Posted January 10, 2006 Installed PATCH 1.11, looks like it installed well, FC still locks up! I am not a computer guy so I am at a loss and need help. Maybe I can email Eagle Dynamics? I have to hold down the start button on my computer to get it to shut down and I understand this is not so good for computers. Any Suggestions? Thanks Falcon127 PS Rasputin thanks, what do you suggest for my new graphics card?
TomKatt Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 did u update the drivers (chipset/video/sound...)
Falcon127 Posted January 11, 2006 Author Posted January 11, 2006 Reply: No I have not updated the chipset, drivers, sound. Dose a new owner of LOMAC-FC have to register or down load something to enable the program o work properly? The sample aircraft on the right side of the Main Menu window will play, but I can’t get into anything on the left side of the FC MM window as soon as I click on a button my entire computer locks-up, Lock On becomes locks-up. LOMAC played well on my computer. Right now I suspect a conflict with possibly some security program but I am only guessing. Who would be willing, or who should I go to ask for help as I don’t expect busy people to take time to work with me as I am a novice when comes to computers. J Thanks for any help Falcon127
SuperKungFu Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 Yea lock on should run on ur rig, and no you dont have to download or register for something. Have you tried reinstall and tell us the order you performed the install. Also it might be due to another program that clash with it. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Falcon127 Posted January 11, 2006 Author Posted January 11, 2006 IT WAS NORTON! My security software was protecting me against flight simulators. RR I can now play LOMAC FC. Thanks for the input guys. I completely turned off my Norton security programs and I could get into LOMAC FC. See you in the Air Falcon127
SuperKungFu Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 glad to see that you got it working, have fun :icon_supe ! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Rhen Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 IT WAS NORTON! My security software was protecting me against flight simulators. RR I can now play LOMAC FC. Thanks for the input guys. I completely turned off my Norton security programs and I could get into LOMAC FC. See you in the Air Falcon127 Hmm, I have Norton Internet Security/Antivirus as well, but don't experience the lockups. Perhaps you should dig a little deeper... especially if you intend to do some multiplayer stuff. If you've got Norton Internet Security, have you allowed Lock on to access the internet? are you using the default Norton setup? Just some thoughts... Good luck, and welcome to Lock On - it's a great sim!

I completely turned off my Norton security programs and I could get into LOMAC FC. See you in the Air Falcon127 Yep I don't care for Norton's stuff...way too bloated and it causes problems in my experience. Besides, you should have as few progs running in the background as possible with something as system-taxing as Lomac. I wonder what component of your security suite was giving you trouble...AV or Firewall? ----------------------------- AMD Athlon 64 3800+ Asrock 939 Dual SATA 2 mobo 1024 Corsair PC3200 XFX 7800GT Antec True Blue 480 Samsung 940B Track IR4 Saitek X-45 HOTAS Win XP Pro
TomKatt Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 I run a firewall (not norton) all the times with lockon. It works fine (as long as the firewall allows the lockon to access the internet)
VMFA-Blaze Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 I really think that your video card is the problem..... My experience with this card gave me exactly the same results.... I had lockups not just with this sim but allso with IL 2 as well..... So I uninstalled the 6600 and I'm know running a 6800 Ultra without any lockups..... You have a High End system with the exception of the card...... The 6600 is really an economy GPU and FC takes a strong video card to run properly...... OOOPPS... Sorry guy I didn't see the the post where you said that you fixed the problem. but you should still think about replaceing your card... ~S~ Blaze intel Cor i7-6700K ASUS ROG MAX VIII Extreme G.Skill TridentZ Series 32 GB Samsung 850 Pro 1TB SATA II ASUS GTX 1080/DIRECTX 12 Windows 10 PRO Thrustmaster Warthog Oculus Rift VR
S77th-konkussion Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 I agree a better video card would be great- but it's not locking him up like that. It was definitely Norton. It can be configured to work with LOMAC better, but it is very problematic. (Along with most of the other antivirus programs.) ED Team Groove Posted January 11, 2006 ED Team Posted January 11, 2006 NORTON itself is very problematic and ressource consuming. Our Forum Rules: http://forums.eagle.ru/rules.php#en
VMFA-Blaze Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 I've been useing McAfee on most of my systems and really don't have that many problems, but thats just me, I'm sure that there are people that have issues with Mc as well..... ~S~ Blaze intel Cor i7-6700K ASUS ROG MAX VIII Extreme G.Skill TridentZ Series 32 GB Samsung 850 Pro 1TB SATA II ASUS GTX 1080/DIRECTX 12 Windows 10 PRO Thrustmaster Warthog Oculus Rift VR
Falcon127 Posted January 12, 2006 Author Posted January 12, 2006 I repeated the lock up on my Sony computer by trying to run LOMAC FC with my full Norton security on and it locked up again when trying to get into the sections on the left side of the main menu. The program will load and I can fly the Aircraft on the right side of the main menu with full Norton on. All I have to do for now is turn of my is turn off Norton and I can fly in FC all day. This may prevent me from playing on net work until I get Norton to accept FC or switch to a different security program. I’m happy for now. Thanks for all the input. I am looking for a better Graphics card and yes that 6800 is very nice. How about the EVGA e-GeForce 7800 GXT KO J Thanks Falcon PS Check this out. S77th-konkussion Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Last week I was experiencing all kinds of weirdness & consternation. Lag, warping, etc. I was pretty sure the server was coming down. About 20 minutes later it froze up solid- I got it unwound and discovered that I had macafee running the whole time. :icon_hang But at least it did function- just VERY poorly. You should allways disable all programs when running Lock on, usually most developers recommend this when running their games..... So I usually do, but there are times when I forget and there have been some interruptions while in Lock on when McAfee trys to install an update but this hasn't been a very serious issue so far..... My system is very well protected as I'm running an AMD processor which has virus protection built in as well...... But there must guys out there that have had their problems......... ~S~ Blaze intel Cor i7-6700K ASUS ROG MAX VIII Extreme G.Skill TridentZ Series 32 GB Samsung 850 Pro 1TB SATA II ASUS GTX 1080/DIRECTX 12 Windows 10 PRO Thrustmaster Warthog Oculus Rift VR
S77th-konkussion Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 I know that- I just missed it that time..:p I have also noted that If I try to shut down Macafee too quickly following the boot sequence it will re- start itself! It's probably in the middle of an update check.. [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=43337&d=1287169113[/sIGPIC]
