monkie Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 It's great to see that the "slick" version that was introduced with 1.2.6 represents a civilian UH-1 and could also represent a Vietnam Era slick by simply adding door gunners. Would anyone else also like to see a more updated military "slick" with the IR exhaust suppressor and cable cutters with or without the flare dispensers and with or without door gunners? Rangi Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 yes I would love it if all different combinations were available to chop and change as need be.... PC: 6600K @ 4.5 GHz, 12GB RAM, GTX 970, 32" 2K monitor.
IonicRipper Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 I would just like the option to have door gunners with the slick version. Nothing more. i5 4590 @ 3.77GHz | GTX 1060 6GB | 16GB 1600MHz DDR3 | 1TB HDD+500GB HDD | Win10 Home X64 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Paganus Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Is it still a slick if you put an M23 mount for the gun?
monkie Posted September 6, 2013 Author Posted September 6, 2013 I've always thought of a slick as having only door guns (or without) with no mounts for any other weapons, as they were usually tasked with carrying troops. Take the current gunship model, remove the mounts for rockets and mini-guns and I'd be pretty happy with that as a post 1970's military "slick". (the flare dispensers are debatable but I can live with them). Sager Laptop, i7-6700k 4.00GHz, 16GB RAM, GTX 980M, 1920x1080, TIR 5, Windows 10
Paganus Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 But if you keep the door guns you need an external mount like an M23. I think in a true slick they would just fire un-mounted guns from that seat or do a field mod suspending a gun from rope or bungee cord.
AliasVBA1 Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 "Slick" was the alias for the normal UH-1D-H transports normally equipped with an M23 Armament Subsystem or an "Sagami Mount" (nearly the same as the M23). This systems carried one M60D on each side. source - http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums/showthread.php?139412-Vietnam-War-Helicopter-Aviation-UH-1-Slicks-and-other-versions
