poiopopo Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Hi I'm wondering which SAM sites to use when creating a mission for missile avoidance. I want a SAM site that will fire a missile every couple of seconds. the ones i have tried either don't fire anything or will only fire at me once. Also, is it possible to make carrier landing missions with guided approaches?
159th_Falcon Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Yep, you can do an ILS approach on the Admiral Kuznetsov when flying an SU-33 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] The keeper of all mathematical knowledge and the oracle of flight modeling.:)

Also, is it possible to make carrier landing missions with guided approaches? For simple SAM evasion, try using a single (or multiple) Tunguska, SA-9, SA-13, or MANPADS. These are IR units. For RADAR units, you could try SA-15 TOR, SA-6 KUB (2 units; STR-search/track radar, and LN, launcher) Many of the RADAR units require mutliple units in order to function (launcher, search radar, tracking radar at minimum)
Tetra Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Just to add to what Evil.Bonsai suggested, make sure the relevant type search radars, tracking radar and launcher units are in the same group, otherwise they will not operate properly, or at all. poiopopo Posted September 18, 2013 Author Posted September 18, 2013 Thanks, that made for some good practice. Is there a list I can find somewhere that shows what launchers should be used with what trackers?
