Taproot Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 Hey I am writing this in the wrong place, but I get a visit to test the sim in 10 mins and the game is not working. Today I installed new CPU and after this DCS world says that "due to significant hardware changes you have to reactivate this module". Well, I trie to reactivate. But somehow it wont let me. In modulemanager it all looks fine.. Any idea? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
pbishop Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 I did this not long ago and it was a pain. Multiple tries at all kinds of random things led to success so I don't know exactly what I did. To add insult to injury, the activation servers were down for a day when I did this. But, here is what I think made it work. I deactivated the module in the window that pops up. I think it needs to be deactivated before you can reactivate. You don't have to worry about re-installing, I can tell you that much for sure. But, remember none of this works if the servers are down on starforce side of things.
cichlidfan Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 This should not involve jumping through any hoops. I have replaced a CPU and reactivation was straightforward. @Taproot Please explain exactly what happens when the system does not let you reactivate. ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! Extreme 8GB, Corsair HX1000i, Phillips BDM4065UC 40" 4k monitor, VX2258 TouchScreen, TIR 5 w/ProClip, TM Warthog, VKB Gladiator Pro, Saitek X56, et. al., MFG Crosswind Pedals #1199, VolairSim Pit, Rift CV1
Taproot Posted September 11, 2013 Author Posted September 11, 2013 Well. It tells me to retrie to reactivate. I press retry, doublecheck the serial. Game tells me that reactivation is succesfull. But it ain't. I cant enter any of my aircraftmodules and this reactivation happends evertime i enter a game. Only thing i found was a different a 10 serial, it did not match the serial from steam where i bought a 10 standalone a year ago. When I corrected that serial a 10 module is now working. But thats 5 of 6 modules. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
SkateZilla Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 You have to Clear the Registry, http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=94531 Also, DCSW Auto Links DCS A-10C DLC to your DCSW with a New License Key if you bought DCS A-10C 1.1.1.x from Steam. But to activate you need to wipe the registry and re-do it. I went though this when I Upgraded my CPU from a FX81xx to a FX8350. Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2), ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9) 3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs
Taproot Posted September 11, 2013 Author Posted September 11, 2013 Where can I find this in registry? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
SkateZilla Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 Click the link In my post, Right Click, Save As to Download the .REG File Double Click it, it will ask to you want to add this data to the registry, click yes and it will Clear the Eagle Dynamics Registry Entries. pbishop Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 This should not involve jumping through any hoops. It should not, but trust me it does.
Taproot Posted September 11, 2013 Author Posted September 11, 2013 Registry cleaning worked like a charm :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
