RainMakerXX Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 I am sorry if this is a stupid question, but after downloading an aircraft, where do I put it?
159th_Viper Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Anywhere you want to. To install said aircraft, run the .exe and it will automatically find your DCS World install path provided of course that you have DCS World installed already. RainMakerXX Posted September 17, 2013 Author Posted September 17, 2013 I was hoping for that. Perfect :) Thank you.
Flagrum Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Anywhere where you will find it later again. Windows (since Windows Vista, I think) has already a folder for such purposes - it is just called "Downloads". Your web browser should allow you to select that folder. To install the module, you just double click on it's file icon. Open the folder you saved the module in (i.e. "Downloads") by opening an explorer window. You should find the "Downloads" folder in the folder list on the left hand side of the explorer window (somewhere near the top).

RainMakerXX Posted September 17, 2013 Author Posted September 17, 2013 Well, I have Steam-DCS, so it can´t find a path. Any tips on what I should do?
159th_Viper Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Well, I have Steam-DCS, so it can´t find a path. Any tips on what I should do? Download and install separate from Steam. All you need is the activation key - do not need Steam at all. Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? Click me to commence your Journey of Pillage and Plunder! Ramsay Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 (edited) Steam downloads and installs the modules/DLC you buy from them (you may have to re-start the steam client). You don't need ED's standalone installers. If you purchased a module (that's sold on steam) from the ED e-store you can either download and install the standalone DCS:W from ED or register the key with steam and steam will download and install it into the Steam version of DCS:W. It's covered in the Steam FAQ in these forums. Note: If it's a new purchase from the e-store it's can take a couple of weeks for Steam to sinc their valid key DB with ED's.
