Irregular programming Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 This has not been communicated at all, so it's really frustrating. As far as I know the latest patch is the open beta, however since ED patched our live games there is no way of knowing that unless you happened to read wags post on the forums. The open beta should not have been automatically downloaded, it's way too buggy and it completely negates the reason to have an open beta if the testers doesn't know it is one. At least I hope it's an open beta, because 1.2.6 is pretty bad.

No this patch is rock solid. :music_whistling: 1.2.6 isn't the open beta. From Wags release note - Note: The open beta version was not ready in time for release. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1858557&postcount=1 I am 90% sure that wasn't there when I read the release statement, well.. that clarifies a thing or two.
cichlidfan Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 This statement still intrigues me to no end... Note: The open beta version was not ready in time for release. Version 1.2.6 was cranked out in less time that any other recent full patch, yet the open beta wasn't ready in time. In time for what? Well, the release of 1.2.6 just happened to be before they got the open beta out, obviously :music_whistling:
Grimes Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Version 1.2.6 was cranked out in less time that any other recent full patch, yet the open beta wasn't ready in time. In time for what? Probably to to add a feature that allowed switching between a open beta release and the non beta release easily via a GUI. Or other back-end stuff that needs to be in place first. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. Just as probably, to add a feature that allowed them to start garnering revenue from the Mi-8. :) Edited September 26, 2013 by cichlidfan ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! aaron886 Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 You guys are cracking jokes but you have to appreciate the challenge of releasing new content. If you're not aware, it takes time to get a new feature to "beta" status in the first place. A certain amount of testing has to happen internally beforehand.

If 1.2.6 was ready to be released to the public, then it certainly would have been "beta"-ready, no? The question remains why was 1.2.6 not realeased as the proposed public beta?
Hamblue Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 How about the challenge of receiving new content that isn't ready? :music_whistling: :megalol::megalol: The latest hasn't been too bad for me but for many (especially for the late 32 bit players) it hasn't been a good one. The only updates that seem to be very important is the sales updates, those seem to be regularly updated! "any failure you meet, is never a defeat; merely a set up for a greater come back", W Forbes.
