Just a quick report-

Running with an I5 laptop... 8gigs of RAM and a 660M graphics card- everything on low... latest drivers yadda yadda.

When I can see snow (dynamic weather) the screen will completely lock up- until I hit escape. When I hit escape, it resumes... until the next time (seconds).

Just thought I'd throw it out there and see if anyone else is getting similar performance issues?

I'll have to double check my graphics driver... seems fishy to me that the only key that works is the escape key- and it doesn't lock up on the same mission when viewing aircraft or vehicles that are out of the weather.

Dynamic weather, IIRC, is also responsible for the exploding-on-tarmac P-51 bug. I'd say don't use dynamic weather at present--it seems to be an unfinished feature.

Sounds like a bottle neck (possibly) the hesitation is due to memory being moved between GPU,CPU and sometimes when needed HDD.

How much GPU mem. is on that GPU?

I think I figured out what it was- we can shut this down. Basically, there was a script error "playing" in the background... I suspect the enter key may have worked to clear it too.

I stumbled into it on another computer while testing the mission.

DCS on a laptop? ;)

i've never run DCS on anything else. Bit more expensive than a comparably performing desktop for sure, but the portability is worth it.
