Fifi Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 Hi, Gave a shot with the free DCS plane, but i have major issue in it  I can't zoom or unzoom like in others planes EXCEPT when i desable/pause my TIR5! When TIR5 is active, the zoom buttons i've mapped just don't work at all... I have readed somewhere that i should desable all TIR5 zoom command in the commands tab option of game, but i have nothing mapped in the TIR5 column! With TIR5 active, my default view is stuck close of HUD, and it's just unplayable :( [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Ramsay Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 I can't really help, except to say the keyboard/joystick zoom works for me with TrackIR in the Su-25T cockpit (once I'd realised the TrackIR column was out of view in Options/Controls due my 2 Cougar MFD's). All I can suggest is re-check the Axis Commands as that was where TrackIR was assigned to Zoom View and then test the default keys Num/ and Num* in game. i9 9900K @4.8GHz, 64GB DDR4, RTX4070 12GB, 1+2TB NVMe, 6+4TB HD, 4+1TB SSD, Winwing Orion 2 F-15EX Throttle + F-16EX Stick, TPR Pedals, TIR5, Win 11 Pro x64, Odyssey G93SC 5120X1440

71st_Mastiff Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 Fifi where is your track ir software installed? try installing out side the Programfiles. just make a folder in C:\Track ir then move it all under there, then point your shortcut there or make another or uninstall it and reinstall it like that. Fifi Posted October 11, 2013 Author Posted October 11, 2013 Pffff...SORTED OUT!! Just had to delete the TIR5 "zoom view" affectation, in axis commands... Can't believe it was so simple :megalol: Sorry for this stupid thing :D 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
71st_Mastiff Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 Yes Mastiff, OS Win8 64 bits. Thanks for the tip, i'll try soon  EDIT: still doesn't work, even TIR moved out of programfiles... right click on the track ir icon open it up in properties/ click on advanced/ click on the box run as administrator/ then look for the security tab/ look in the middle lower area and click on the edit button every group user name make sure the box is checked for full control do that for every user. click apply if this doesn't work, you need to try and do a repair. for DCS. or it maybe a windows 8 thing. also check to see if there is any updates for track ir for windows8 and go to their forums and see if they have any info on this. http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/ I have track ir 4 pro and run only the track ir 4 software. I didn't like the 5 software because of issues with some games. "any failure you meet, is never a defeat; merely a set up for a greater come back", W Forbes. Woodsy Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 Hi Fifi. I have only just started playing with my SU25T. I am currently suffering with this problem too. How did you resolve this? Did you just assign your zoom to a joystick slider, or can you zoom in and out with your Trackir without being forced into a full zoom at the start of the mission? This problem too is only affected on my SU25T DCS World and not with the rest of my modules. I have all the modules. I have assigned the "Z" axis individually to both the cockpit forward/backward tab, and the zoom tab. However I cannot play the game without either loosing my zoom function with one setting, or being stuck fully zoomed in with the only option is to sit back a meter from my desk to see inside my cockpit. Any help would be greatly appriciated. Cheers Woodsy
Robin_Hood Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 I am not sure what exactly you are trying to achieve. - if you want to handle zoom with something other that your TrackIR (like a joystick slider, or buttons, or keyboard), clear the TrackIR assignment for the zoom axis. If TrackIR is assigned to zoom, no other means will work (this is the problem that Fifi was experiencing) - if you want to zoom with the TrackIR (ie. zoom by leaning forward and unzoom by leaning backwards), then assign TrackIR Z-axis to zoom in the options. If the default zoom (with TrackIR centered) doesn't suit you, there may be ways of changing it (not sure), or you can play with the centered position of the TrackIR (ie. if you think the centered view is too much zoomed, then lean forward, center TrackIR and return to your normal position and voilà, no need to lean back to be in an unzoomed position). Personally, I used to zoom with the TrackIR, but then I took an arrow in the... Oh wait, that's not it :D But then I settled for zooming with joystick buttons. Zooming with TrackIR can get uncomfortable when you have/want to zoom a lot (like trying to spot targets), and using the Z-axis of the TrackIR for head forward/head backwards (6DOF cockpit, NOT zoom) is usefyll for DCS modules where you have to press buttons that may be hidden behind stuff, or otherwise difficult to access (note that this is not an issue with the Su-25T). Hope I didn't sound too confusing ! 2nd French Fighter Squadron
Woodsy Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 Hi Robin_Hood, thanks for replying. I use Trackir for my zoom function inside the cockpit in all my modules in DCS World. It seems to me that the default centred position for my cockpit view in the SU25T is a little too close for my liking! When I play the game with TrackIr zoom enabled on the option screen, I am only able to view the HUD at the start of the game. In order to view the full cockpit, I need to be sitting at least a meter back from my computer screen. When I re-centre my Trackir no matter where I am sitting, it defaults back to the HUD again. I have tried to find an option in order to adjust my centred view axis for my zoom in the options menu with no luck. My only option as I stated was to assign my zoom function to my slider on my X52 Pro, and assign my z axis to cockpit forward/back in the option menu. It allows me to start with my full cockpit viewable as it is with the rest of my modules. It's not my preferred method but it is the only way I can get it to work. It's not the end of the world for me, I just find it really strange! It's also pretty hard to explain properly without screenshots/video too. Anyhow back to Black Shark! The campaign is progressing nicely! Cheers Woodsy
