timeforaction Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 There doesn't seem to be much official support out there so I'm hoping you guys can help. I bought an X52 joystick today. Connected it up and plugged it all in. All LEDs lit up which seemed good. Everything works with generic win7 (64) drivers in MS FSX. Now the problem... I want to load profiles and play with the software so, as instructed, via CD, I tried to install the drivers. No dice. Kicks up an error in the installation and doesn't install. This means I can't install Saiteks software either. Tried everything, system restore, downloaded driver installation from Saitek and use that instead gives same problem, nothing seems to work and I can't get what the error is. It happens just after it asks for the controller to be plugged in to update the drivers after that I get 'error in installation' and nothing else. Tried having controller in before I start driver installation and tried after I start driver installation even tried changing USB port. Exactly same error message. I can use the joystick but I'd like to use the display and the profiles for it. I want to get it setup for the SU 25T and then the AC10. Does anyone have any ideas as to solutions or what may be causing the problem? I am running win7 with nvidea 460GTX card. My system is very stable.
Picksplitter Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 (edited) you know, I never had any luck with the Saitek programming, sad but true. I had great success just programming the stick and throttle within the game and highly suggest this option! (go to 'options' / 'controls' and it's all there... easiest way for me....) The original Saitek drivers and profiler software on CD is no good as I had same problem !! :( . Download both the latest driver and joystick profiler from Saitek. If you have not done so. timeforaction Posted October 13, 2013 Author Posted October 13, 2013 (edited) Downloaded latest drivers and software from their site. Exactly the same problem. Can't load the driver. Thanks Picksplitter I might just do that. It's just that there are published profiles which would be useful. Also the little display on the throttle can only be set through this software so it's kind of a waste if I can't get it to run. But, not a disaster. Edited October 13, 2013 by timeforaction
Jetkar Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 You must ensure you run the installer as administrator Regards [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Steam ID: Jetkar Steam Group: 223rd CAS Join and fly with us on the 223rd CAS Dedicated server
pacotito Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Youre trying the x52 drivers and not the x52 pro driver correct? When I redownloaded the drivers I completely missed the x52 non pro drivers. The driver website has the non pro driver in a different drop down menu. Pacotito I7-5820k@4.5 Z99 extreme4 16gb ddr4 520gb ssd. Gigabyte ssc GTX960 SSC 4gb
pepin1234 Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Uninstall the Software and the Driver, restart your system. After that clean the Register with all the Saiteks entries, restart again. Install the Drivers with the Saitek unplugged. When request, connect the Saitek. After you finish with Driver instalation, Install the Software. Greets [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
timeforaction Posted October 14, 2013 Author Posted October 14, 2013 pepin, tried all that, to the letter, early on. Even did a complete system restore and then cleaned the registry. Connected when requested, same error. To be honest no drivers were installed, so there is nothing to uninstall apart from minor registry entries from the beginning of the installation. Using non pro driver (in fact, they are the same but still using non pro driver selection). Installing as administrator is not the issue. I have UAC and suchlike turned off anyway. The installer runs until right after the controller is connected (and I tried using USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports) which it detects and allows me to click next, then it immediately gives an error.
