I've noticed anyone with an XBOX 360 controller connected to their computer can't get DCS to run from 1.2.5 - 1.2.6. I have the same problem. Everything worked fine before those new versions were released.

The few threads regarding this problem go back about a month or two (some with little or no response). Although there have a been a bunch of updates over the last couple months, none of them attempt to address this issue as far as I can see.

I understand that this issue isn't affecting a large cross-section of users but there are certainly a few handfuls of people who literally haven't been able to play the game for a couple months even though they payed for it. It may be time for the developers to look at this small but critical issue.

The crash log shows the following:

Any potential workarounds would be greatly welcomed. However, maybe this issue could also be escalated to the developers as it's been afflicting a bunch of people for quite some time now.

Thanks!

I'll also look into this tonight, as my new Wired Xbox controller will be delivered to my office today.

Do you use the Xbox Controller in Sim or Game Mode?

I think I had this issue a year or so ago and I think it was a Driver issue.

If you get to this before me SkateZ, and it does crash, just add your log files here and I will submit it to ED.

Sim mode. I'll play with the drivers and see if that fixes it. FYI, the controller works fine in other games (e.g. X-Plane).

I just updated my drivers, restarted the computer, but the problem still persists. It'll be interesting to see if you guys run into the same issue.

last time I used my Xbox controller with DCS I was trying to get my brother into DCS and it ran, but that was with the SU-25T.

i'd recommend re-naming your /Saved Games/DCS/Config/Input Folder. and ensure FFB is turned off.

Yeah, I've done both of those things already and neither worked. I really have no idea what it could be. Maybe the problem has to do with the latest beta NVidia drivers I installed recently for the Battlefield 4 beta. That's the only thing system-wise that I've done recently.

The controller works fine in all other games though so I don't think there's a software issue with the controller itself. There's some odd conflict between DCS and possibly DirectX or the drivers for the controller. I'm thinking more towards DirectX as that probably also got updated for Battlefield 4. Also, DirectX does seem to process all the controller data.

I'm pretty sure if a developer looked at the crash log, he'd know exactly what was causing the problem. Hopefully, that's still an option.
