Davis0079 Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 If I made a video of every helo I crashed, the internet would crash... ...that is a pretty fancy way to destroy a virtual piece of multi million dollar equipment though... ...but I find doing loops/barrel rolls around the power lines while also slaloming in between the power poles with a beer in one hand and smoke in my eye from my cigarette a more satisfying way to pretend I'm a crash victim at a Russian air show...but...to each his own... It only takes two things to fly, Airspeed and Money.
BBQ Posted October 31, 2013 Author Posted October 31, 2013 The point? I don't know -- I thought it was kinda cool that the Ka-50 can do, for lack of a better term, a "Forward Flip" -- though the engines did not like it at all -- first time, I think, that I've had Nagging Nadia screamin' about over-torquing the engines in an actual flight. I wonder if it can be done without losing both engines? I didn't get it and the video. :) What's the point?

I wonder if it can be done without losing both engines? Oh ok. I know it can be done without loosing "blades", but have no idea about "engines". If you have enough alt and if you don't gain collective right after the flip, you'll lose height but you won't lose anything and keep flying buddy. seikdel Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 though the engines did not like it at all -- first time, I think, that I've had Nagging Nadia screamin' about over-torquing the engines in an actual flight. I wonder if it can be done without losing both engines? Oh, the engines don't mind flips at all. They'll gladly keep those rotors spinning through flips, rolls, and buzzing your commander's back porch. It's the chopping the blades off and sending the rotor RPM through the roof that the poor engines don't like =P
Spetz Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 I can do rolls and back flips with no issues, but never managed a front flip with losing my rotors.
