Thrustmaster Warthog Hotas Slew Control?

I am just trying to figure out if the slew control ball is supposed to be rolled like a track ball or pushed in and moved like a old laptop keyboard mouse? It's been giving me grief?

Pushing it in is just another button press I think. I just purchased one and to slew I just lightly move it around with my finger, I don't push it in and it doesn't roll for me.

Correct. The push is an unused function, by default, in the A-10C sim.
