Dudester22 Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 I am getting real stuck while using the china Hat, so hope someone here can help. When I am in HUD mode, I slew around and select a SPI to get a point of interest. I can then cancel the SPI by pressing TMS long back and can then place the the little target box back to where it was in the HUD by pushing China Hat long forwards. That's all fine and I think I am doing that bit right, but it's when I am in TGP that I am getting confused. I set the TGP to SOI, I then slew around in the TGP and select a target of interest, but when I no longer am interested in that area of interest I'm a bit stuck what to do. By that I mean, I use TMS long back to unselect the SPI, but how do I get the little target to go back to it's position like it does when I am in HUD mode? Do I have to go back into HUD mode to get it back to it's original position, or is there a way to send the target box back to it's original position whilst still in TGP? I hope I have explained things ok here and someone can see what I am getting at. Thanks!
ENO Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 (edited) Thought it was just TMS back short to unload a SPI. Going to go check in the manual. EDIT: Okay- from where I'm sitting it looks like you need to be on the TAD- where TMS aft short is in fact a way to unload that SPI. (Page 88) In addition- if you want to go back to waypoint, just hit China Hat back long. If you want to center it... it's just china hat back short. If you want to slew it to a new SPI, china hat forward long. Edited December 8, 2013 by ENO "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret. When I am in HUD mode and push the China Hat forwards long, it goes back to it's original place after slewing around in the HUD. Also, should all the commands you have listed work regardless if you are in HUD mode or in TGP SOI mode?
ENO Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 I thought I could release a SPI with a tms back short... but not according to the manual... Chinahat forward long would normally slave all to SPI... Sorry- was meant to be page 88 I can't go in there now and check... but I can look into it tomorrow. Dudester22 Posted December 8, 2013 Author Posted December 8, 2013 Okay, I will play around with it tomorrow and see what results I get. My main thing though is getting the target box back to it's original position whilst in TGP SOI. I will press China Hat back short and see what Happens. Thanks!
Iberian Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 If the TGP is the SOI (sensor of interest)...China hat aft short command centers the TGP [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Evil.Bonsai Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 My main thing though is getting the target box back to it's original position whilst in TGP SOI. I will press China Hat back short and see what Happens. Thanks! If by back to it's original position, you mean where it was previously looking and it moved, unless the previous position was a strpt or mrkpt, there's no way to go back. UNLESS you previously launched a weapon on that point, in which case you can use the TAD and there should be a 'z' markpt at that location. Move the TAD cursor over the 'z' and you can set that as spi and slew the TGP to that.
