lesnyborsuk Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 (edited) Hi, I am just wondering- is this going to be changed? I am frequently turning off right engine in A10C because "fire off" handle is just below "Chat" button. In Mustang I am pulling off my canopy (although flying without it is very refreshing, but it destroys my hair :music_whistling:). Is it possible to turn off clickable cockpits while any window is opened? Thanks! Edited December 16, 2013 by lesnyborsuk I remember when sex was safe and flying was dangerous.
SkateZilla Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 (edited) you can enable/disable Clickable cockpit with key commands. Either by Toggling Mouse Cursor to View Control (Forgot command to do that off hand) or By going ALT+F1 first to remove the cockpit from the screen. KaspeR32 Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 That's so funny that you mention this, that happened to me the other day in the P-51, I thought I heard something odd when I was chatting. Only after I taxied out to the runway did I realize my canopy was missing. It would be nice if they disabled mouse clicking in the cockpit once another window is open in. minyon Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 LAlt+Z will dissable the mouse click cockpit and enable the mouse view.
ApoNOOB Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 (edited) I don't want to derail but some part of the chat system has been annoying me to no end. When you enter the chat mode - it 'blinks' and it's active. But when you activate the clickable cockpit/cursor it becomes unactive -> You can't close it without making it active again! Now here is my problem: When you hover over the chat, the cursor has a dark colour and you need to click into the text window to make it active. (and closeable) This killed me more often than I care do admit. :3 Is it a 'me' thing or this annoying for you guys too? Sorry if I explained this badly, highly medicated right now... death over europe...! =( Edit: Forgot to say, bind your chat window (TEAM!) to a key you can easily reach and another for chat to all with a modifier. Trying to click/unclick the team/all chat may lead to the above described problem. =) Edited December 16, 2013 by ApoNOOB contribute!
SkateZilla Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 (edited) Toggling Text Chat on and off isnt anymore of a distraction as actually typing a message. Toggling on and off takes a second and a click, typing a long message, good luck, unless you're orbiting on AutoPilot or Idling on the ground, it's gonna be an Issue, Dont TxT and Drive/Fly. TBH the $5 Generic Headset from Walmart or Equiv. Store + Teamspeak is the best solution. I use teamspeak for voice comms in nearly all of my games, Sims, Shooters, RTS, even MMO's. And if TeamSpeak Isnt availible, I use something else. I think for a while I was using BF3's BattleComms for Voice Comms in MMOs, because I can just open it in my Browser and Minimize, and not have to worry about a server program. I Rarely Use Text Chat in DCS, if ever, and like 98% of the people I play with dont either. The only time I've used Text was to post the link to the teamspeak info actually Edited December 16, 2013 by SkateZilla Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2), ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9) 3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs
