BigGuyWhoKills Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 I had some odd interaction with TrackIR and the number pad look keys. I had just checked in with JTAC and was about to put in coordinates. I hit number pad period <.> to pause TrackIR, which I've done for weeks. For whatever reason tonight, it used the default lock view instead of pausing TrackIR (I was trapping that key). I tried Numlock, to no avail. I alt-tabbed out to check TrackIR, and every time it was paused. That may have been coincidence from all the mashing to try to get it working. Numpad 5 would not fix it. Resetting TrackIR did not fix it. If I pressed the other numpad look keys, it would move that direction, but snap back to the CDU when I let go. I eventually got hit by a missile and exited the campaign. How should I have fixed this? I was not very methodical with my key mashing, so I am not certain exactly which buttons where pressed in which order.
Wrecking Crew Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 This isn't really an answer to your question, but for my Track IR I use the mouse forward thumb button for Track IR Center, and the Mouse aft thumb button for the Track IR Pause. Maybe you got into the Snap Views with the RCntrl-Num0 command? It takes that same key press to exit the Snap Views. Hobo Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 For the troubleshooting, turn TIR off and press default view resets of num0, num5, and numEnter. If the view is offset your can reset it by using a combination of movement commands and zoom commands to set it where you want. Once you've found the point that you want to and want to make that position default, you will want to press the default key combo of ralt+num0. After that shut down DCS, turn TIR back on, and run DCS again. I would suggest making your TIR key combination to something like lshift+f9. I have yet to find a game/simulation that uses that key combination.
BigGuyWhoKills Posted December 19, 2013 Author Posted December 19, 2013 Thank you both for the suggestions. I will see if either helps.
PeterP Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 . What you need to do to get to your wished/old view : (BTW - this is also explained in the first post - maybe not as detailed like what follows - but the info is there ...) 1. Go into DCS World>>Options>>Misc. > Check "Enable User Snap-View Saving" 2. load a mission. 3 . disable/pause your trackir 4. hit once "NumEnter" Default FOV aka Zoom and "Num5" Cockpit Camera Move Center 5.now use"Num/ - RCtrl - RShift" Cockpit Camera Move Back until the HUD fills the space to your liking. 6. Fine adjust it with "Num2 - RCtrl - RShift" Cockpit Camera Move Down "Num8 - RCtrl - RShift" Cockpit Camera Move Up "Num* - RCtrl - RShift" Cockpit Camera Move Forward "Num8" Turn Cockpit Camera Up "Num2" Turn Cockpit Camera Down "Num/" FOV- aka Zoom-in "Num*" FOV+ aka Zoom-out 7.Once you are satisfied - hit "RAlt+Num0" to Save current Cockpit view as default for this vehicle. 8.enable your TrackIr again. 1
BigGuyWhoKills Posted December 19, 2013 Author Posted December 19, 2013 It's working now. I don't know what exactly fixed it because the view was normal as soon as I loaded into an instant action.
Nerull Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 Why pause TrackIR? When I press "RCTRL + numpad0" I go into padlock view and TrackIR doesn't do anything anymore, no need to pause it. Am I the only one with this lucky fluke?
BigGuyWhoKills Posted December 19, 2013 Author Posted December 19, 2013 I had NumPad0 set to center TrackIR. That may have caused the problem.
