That MIGHT be true...but when was the last time that lockon.ru page was updated? Yes...we HAVE seen this before, and the manufacturer usually didn't update the release date until just a few weeks before the "previously projected" date. Bottom line...none of us will actually know which to believe...but it WILL eventually happen. :D

Well, perhaps it means nothing, but couple weeks ago same site was saying 15 th of March... Now they changed it to May, why would they do it? Just for fun?

And you want to say that time between releases of 1.12 and 1.2 will be just a month or less?

Yup...release dates are set by the retailer, and I'm fairly certain they wouldn't take delivery of a game from a publisher and then have it collect dust in a warehouse for a couple of months. So, I'm thinking we probably won't be getting our hands on it until May...but it may be later. It was the same way with the original release of Lock-On...a few times I remember the projected release month already passing and UBIs site still wasn't updated. All of the retailers had updated their release dates though. I disagree with those who think this time around will be much different in how much information we get from the publisher. :beer:

ED has said (in the beta forums) that 1.2 wont be as much work as 1.1, they have the beta working and the chopper added. AFM is there from 1.1 and other optimizations already in place though ED likes to surprise us with extras like new ground units, new trees, further graphic optimizes, multi joystick profiles the list grows.

 

8 new screenshots have appeared on the ED 1.2 screenshots section already showing new missles and APC's !! I for one commend ED for adding more and more quality items for the Ka-50 to kill and hope they add more !! :D Just looking at the fresh quality of the Stryker APC (i think thats what it is ?) model and textures says something special is happening.

 

Now they talk of HDR and new terrain (Georgia far to the Turkey border) although we might not see this in 1.2, Olgerd has said 4-6 months from BETA testing comencing we should see 1.2 BS very close to completion if not released.

 

I gathered alot of his quotes and linked the thread on my website so have a look.

 

1.12 willbe released when its stable and all important bugs removed, these things as we know from exprience cant not have a date placed on them it truely is "when its done".

That's a negative, Weta. :D Before the original lock-on was released, we had similar situations of individuals posting to say "I have the inside scoop on the exact release date". None of it turned out to be true, and the retailers actually seemed to be predicting things a little better than the multitudes of "insiders". The way I see it is...ED has the resources to do one of two things with their coding team...either keep us all 100% in the loop with constant updates to the site, or work on the sim. They can't do both. I'd rather have them work on the sim. ;)

 

I can't fix an airplane if I'm constantly advising my customer of the exact steps I'm taking and when I'll be done. One of my pet peeves in that business is someone who talks to my customer and makes them promises about things I never told them I could keep.

 

It'll be released when its ready, no worries. :D

Nope. Not kidding at all. Since so much is being changed in this release, I won't buy unless I can see a demo. :D

but I was only rattling your chain anyway :-)

 

Myself - I'lll get it regardless of a Demo though - I figure E.D. can't realy do any worse than the original release of 1.0, & that was fun from the start - & they've kept supporting the sim till they've got it to where it is today, which despite it's shortcomings I think is a good product.

I'm already StarForced, so nothing to lose there (ha!)

Even if 1.2 has a few kinks, I expect E.D. will sort them out & I've been enjoying mudmoving lately so I guess 1.2 will still be fun even with a few kinks.

Also, I'd had Lockon for a few months, but I was pretty new to the whole thing & I wasn't that impressed by the 1.1 Demo (a few things I didn't get till my second reading of the Manual!) & if I'd just gone off that I'd probably not have got it - but I'm glad I did.

Acording to Chizh there is a big possibility that advanced trees and new territory won't be included in 1.2 release. They are out of time. And those features may appear in future patches.

Those features will be part of 1.2 just not in the release version. They were planed to 1.2 but just delayed. :)
