Skulleader Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Hello, I have a question concerning the ammeter gauge, with my P-51D this gauge indicate always zero amperes. On the ground or in flight this gauge indicate zero amperes, please can you explain to me if it's normal or I make a mistake ? I use the 1.2.6 version DCS... I would like to thank you in advance for you help. Best regards. sobek Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Did you turn the battery on? Did you turn the generator on? Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
Skulleader Posted December 26, 2013 Author Posted December 26, 2013 Hello Sobek, In first a great thanks for your help, Yes my battery is ON and my generator is ON but the ammeter gauge stay at zero... I've read this post but with my P-51D this gauge display zero, link of this post: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=88208&highlight=ammeter Once again I wuld like to thank you for your help, Skull. Skulleader Posted December 26, 2013 Author Posted December 26, 2013 Hello again dear Sobek, I join you one track: https://www.dropbox.com/s/o8num7g2i6txiq9/P-51%20Teste%20Amp%2002.trk I don't know if everything is OK but my ammeter gauge is almost dead, no ? Is it normal ? A great thanks in advance for all. Skulleader Posted December 26, 2013 Author Posted December 26, 2013 Re, I've discovered one thing, in the mission editor if I choose the winter with -8° my ammeter gauge display 60 or 70. And also if I add the light, pitot heat, gun heat, HUD, etc the ammeter gauge display easy 60 or plus... Is it one solution to my problem ? If you want I have on little video in the winter... I wait your answer with impatient... Best regards, Skull. By the way, the starter current does not affect the gauge. Skulleader Posted December 27, 2013 Author Posted December 27, 2013 Hello Yo-Yo, So you have write that everything seems Ok no ? On fact I can watch the ammeter gauge up and down if I use my electric devices and if my RPM are high, is it True ? I would like to thank you for your answer and best regards, Skull. Yes, its absolutely correct. I------- A --->>-------------I-------------------- I Auto switch I Gen.................................Batt................Consumers I I I------------------------------I-------------------- (points mean nothing :) - because spaces do not work for spacing) If rpm is low, the generator can not produce enough voltage, higher than battery own voltage to charge it. The automatic switch breakes the wire. Any consumers that are on discharge battery but you will not see any current on ammeter. If no cosumers connected and rpm is significant to provide necessary voltage to overcome battery own voltage, current will flow into the battery charging it. As it is being charged the current are going down up to almost zero. Then, if you connect consumers the ammeter will show the current that passes by the charged battery to consumers. If they consume more current generator can provide the energy will be borrowed from the battery. Anyway, the electric circuits in DCS now is simulated using true electro-engineering methods... so it's right. :) Ніщо так сильно не ранить мозок, як уламки скла від розбитих рожевих окулярів There is nothing so hurtful for the brain as splinters of broken rose-coloured spectacles. Merlin-27 Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Thank you for the explanation, Yo-Yo. I've been curious of its behavior before and the auto switch to the battery makes perfect sense.
