Pilotasso Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 Yeah we got plenty of those Fiat Gr-91 rotting here too from total of 181 (if my memory doesnt cheat me). Some were bought still in airworthy conditions. The FIat Gr91 served the Portuguese air force from 1961 and participated in 3 silmutaneous conflicts in africa, were it was used for ground pounding, but also as rapid reaction alert aircraft to prevent Nigerian mig-15's from interfering. It turns out they Moved them away to a far away base when operation "green sea" was carried out. Pretty dark years were those. The UN santioned our Illigal deplyoment of the F-86 Sabres and they had to be withdrawn. .
