If you run on 1.2.7. open beta there is an important change!

You need to open the throttle (twist the ring on the collective to the left) a bit and back to idle detent?

When cold starting the UH-1H the throttle is in the closed/shutdown position now. You need to open it to idle so the turbine gets some gas...

I did the Huey startup training today. Same result as the OP. Running 1.26. I also clicked on the actual switch on the collective. No love.... just silence.

Collective down, had the joystick axis open.

1.2.6 procedure should have throttle already in idle... let's see, step by step. I'll ignore anything but what's needed for engine start, so mind the rest according to the manual.

- fuel pump on (red cap lever between the yellow brackets, middle console)

- emergency power override up position (red triangle switch to the aft right of the fuel pump)

- generator on (overhead panel, the one with the black security cap)

- battery on (overhead panel, below the generator switch) honking starts so switch low rpm warning off

- check auxiliary generator is set to "starter" mode (up position, it should be by default)

- now press and hold (!) HOME ...you should here a continous clicking from the igniter, then the rotor will move and when at 40% you can stop pressing HOME

If this does not work, check the key assignments for the Huey in options / controls / UH-1H sim (!)

Try assigning any joystick button to the engine ignition. Keyboard standard should be HOME, though.

Hope this helps.

Albeit you already solved the problem (btw. for others it's always nice to also explain how you solved it),

here are some more information.

Correct starting procedure and a link to the full manual.

Without checking myself now, I assume the starter generator wasn't at the START position,

so the starter wasn't connected to the battery to even begin with ?
