vmimbs0917 Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Hey everyone. I'm just getting into DCS. I just have a few questions. Is DCS an add on to Lock on Modern Air Combat? I have Lock on Gold at the moment. What all will i need in order to play DCS. The A-10 version in particular. Thanks Everyone!
sobek Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 (edited) Is DCS an add on to Lock on Modern Air Combat? I have Lock on Gold at the moment. What all will i need in order to play DCS. Rather the other way around now. Btw. you can fly the Su-25 in DCS World for free. Everything else you will need to purchase. To fly the A-10C (DCS level, clickable pit, high system fidelity) you will need to buy that particular module. If you want to update to Flaming Cliffs 3, you will need to purchase that separately. Edit: The A-10A, which is a Flaming Cliffs/LOMAC level of detail AC can be purchased (either through buying FC3 or) separately as well. Edited January 8, 2014 by sobek Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
SkateZilla Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 DCS World is a Separate Application, and Is the Host Environment for Modules. You can Download and Install DCSWorld for Free from Here (Which comes with Free SU-25T Module): http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/world/dcs_world/ Or if you Prefer Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/app/223750/?snr=1_7_15__13 (note: FC3 Module is not Compatible with STEAM Version of DCS World) If you want to Fly the A-10C, You Must Purchase an DCS:A-10C License from ED (Other Vendors include but are not limited to: Steam, Gamefly, etc). vmimbs0917 Posted January 8, 2014 Author Posted January 8, 2014 Ok DCS world is a seperate application? So it isn't affiliated with LOMAC?
SkateZilla Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 LockOn is a Legacy Product Based on an Earlier version of the Same Engine.. vmimbs0917 Posted January 8, 2014 Author Posted January 8, 2014 ok that'll give me something to go on. Thanks for the help:thumbup:
Raven68 Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 DCS World is entirely seperate - although its made by the same company. Think of it as the sequel to LOMAC. DCS World is free, and comes with the Su25T for free. So download and install DCS World first. Then PURCHASE and download the install the A-10C add-on / module. Here's a quick start guide to introduce you to the A-10C: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=213629603 And have fun :D Fixed it for yah. :) Intel i5-9600K @ 3.7GHz; Gigabyte Z370XP SLI Mobo; G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 64GB (4 x 16GB) 288-Pin DDR4 GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 4080 16GB 256-Bit GDDR6; Thermaltake Water 3.0 Certified Liquid Cooling System Windows 11 Professional HP Reverb G2 /TrackIR 5 in case VR dies; Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog w/ Thrustmaster T-Flight Rudder Pedals
