Campaign Mission "Race against time"

I'm kind of stuck on the race against time mission on the UN campaign.

 

I find the wounded guy ok and start to fly home then the "boss" tells me to tune in the ADF to so and so frequency which I do and start following it. Thing is it just leads me into the mountains and seems to be going nowhere!!

 

Now I supposed to be flying toward checkpoint 14 but it's not marked on the map so any pointers would be good!!

 

or is this mission bugged?

The ADF may easily point to another signal if the frequency is even a bit off. Maybe that happened in your case?

 

I had to refly the mission a couple of times because I always arrived too late and the guy was DOA. When I was finally in time, I somehow managed to get him to the rendezvous in time, but it was a rather long flight (30+ minutes IIRC) and I was almost certain I was heading in the wrong direction until I finally spotted the FARP with the Blackhawk.

 

I think the FARP was located approximately north by north east from the pickup position somewhere in the Georgian plain.
